I had exactly the same issues as yourself after buying the handset on O2 pay as you go in the UK. All you need to do to get full functionality is to debrand it using one of the services on the web. It cost me about 8 quid to get it debranded to a generic firmware and now all the functions such as tracker, Google Maps etc work fine with the GPS unit.

With R3DA029 I can only see one difference, I have CPW Navigator instead of Wayfinder in the Location Services menu (Wayfinder is still in Applications). |

and how about the GPS performance? is it can lock the satellite better in this new firmware? thx |

CPW Navigator is the carphonewarehouse Navigator believe it or not. It is now the first item in the Location Services menu instead of Wayfinder.
I don't think it is any better at locking to satellites. |

Just updated to the new firmware over the air for the first time. The update file is about 3.8MB and downloading was a breeze over my HSDPA network. Then the update process took around 10 minutes and it was quite "cool" with tasteful graphics. Nothing got erased of course and everything ran smoothly. Definitely a better camera driver...that's the only difference I noticed. |

Bluetooth Stereo (A2DP) supports eqaulizer settings in the phone,
Removed support for Xvid mp4 videos (Why??)
Some java apps runs a bit smoother,
Audio and video synchronization in video files are really bad in mp4 format, 3gpp is still okay.

But bootup time still have improvement room |

If your mobile is a customization model there are not a new software on seus or in fota.

My phone is original SE - not branded.
Since last seus-update there is no GPS-function anymore.
Before update it worked pretty fine. |
