I asked raiderski (camera drivers modder) for that. He told me to find and give him the camera driver file from P1 to mod it. I'm in search for all camera files. As soon as I know if he can mod the P1 ones, he would probably mod the G900 too. So I would open a new thread about that. I'm working on it.

P.S. If someone has some info about UIQ camera driver modding, just let me know.

I'm going to butt myself in this topic, since I too just got a G900.

A couple of questions:

1. Do I have to install and run capswitch just once, or do I have to run the app everytime I restart the phone?

2. Do I have to install "FCA00000's "Hack to override permissions"" ? It is on swmail's site, but the instructions seem rather complicated...

3. How exactly do I install the Sis installer mod? It says I have to unlock access to system files. it that FCA00000's? Or is it just CapSwitch? And how do I access the system files? Do I have to copy the Exe to the mem stick, then copy it to the system files from the phone, and then run the exe? Does g900 even run executable files?

That's all my questions for now.

You just install once the CapsSwitch app. You have it in your phone and everytime you need to mod the phone you just turn OFF cabatibilities with the Caps switch app.

Well here's my story. Friday night my dad bought me a G900 (my first smartphone). I came home saturday night (from my girlfriend who lives in another city). I noticed that the back LED was faulty... not turning on when torch is ON, not in video recording, etc. So i switched it sunday. Sunday night i noticed that the new phones screen was flickering (from time to time, after 10 mins+ of use), and 3 times my button lights didn't turn on untill i restarted phone. So monday (today) i went back to change it again. They've told me to return tomorrow to get my new phone... so this will be my 3rd G900 in 3 days... nice job SE!!! my friend from hungary also returned his G900 after 1 day, he had some issues with software. I'll give it 1 more go, then i will ask for my money back, an buy another smartphone. I'm also looking for the file that runs the camera, but can't find it. I found something cameradrv.xxx (xxx as i cant remember extension) but coudn't open it with notepad. Wish me luck on picking up tomorrows smartphone, as i will need it. ( (

The most important is CapsSwitch, you will need it for all other mods. The next one is SIS installer mod for Symbian 9.1 so you can install applications without signing them. I already posted the links here

Hi, I am trying to do the SIS installer but I am not able to find the c:\sys path on the phone. The file manager will not let me view the system files. I changed it in the Windows control panel to show these files but I still do not see them????

Go to Swissmanager settings and enable "ROM drives and system folders options" - check them. Then everything will be displayed.

If you cannot replace it with Swiss Manager free, you can use Xplore as file manager. It is better than Swiss but it is not free though.

I actually have SwissManager Pro but I can not find where to unprotect the folder.

I got it now. CapsSwitch needed to be set to "OFF"

Well yeah, that's why I have said, turn OFF capatibilities. You can also read my Symbian UIQ modding tutorial.

A calibration dialog should appear after doing master reset of the phone. That was the case with the W960s. I don't know about G900... Or you can also run the setup wizard. It should be able to calibrate the touchscreen.
