It's not really the phone's fault, it's Hotmail's fault. They've got their systems set up to redirect to the mobile version for all users of Opera Mobile 8.65, which is the browser in W950.
Well didn't knew that hotmail does that too... I have the same problem with my K800 (although it is not UIQ phone)... The opera mini 4 opens most of the pages in HTML, but there are some pages that are opened in wap or some "light" mobile version... That annoys me sometimes... Such good sites, and you can't browse them as you should.

All sites with a mobile version have predefined User Agent Profiles of each browser / phone / manufacturer to recognise them.

There are plenty of apps you can look for to replace any of the built-in apps that doesn't cut it for you, ie, coreplayer for the video features you need, and yes, i can't access my hotmail acc in html, but works wonderfully with my gmail and yahoo accs

Yep, the site didn't include Safari/WebKit on their list of UAProfs.

Yeah, it's a buy or don't try, unfortunately. It is very good, though. |

I'd re-encoode it to the native resolution of the screen |

I also want to update the firmware.
Firstly, i did a backup through PC suite. Now, will only the phone memory be deleted or the 4GB flash memory too? Also, to what extent will i be able to restore my phone to? All my settings and most importantly WAP access points will be restored?

Good to see you already installed Coreplayer. Ok, thing is everyrthing will be swiped off when you update your firmware. Think of it as giving your phone clean sleight. You should back everything up. After you've updated, you can choose to restore everything again and everything will be restored, even your settings. Don't backup your games though, they'll give you a headache when you restore. Just uninstall them and reinstall after your update.
