@Mizzle,
Well that's no change from before then and if some one would be kind enough to give me a link that is exactly what i would do.
@Arses
If you can't spell my name when it's in front of you correctly then don't bother. That was so hilarious the first time NOT and it's even less so the second time stop acting your shoe size and try acting your age. Mind you at least you won't have any trouble interacting with your child as you'll both be on the same level, well at least until he grows a bit.
Marc

Just noticed another change in the new white paper after comparing it to the other.
The Standby and Talk time are now listed.
These times will only be in the best cases.
Standby:
GSM 580 hours
UMTS 833 hours
Talktime
GSM 10 hours
UMTS 6.5 hours

Ah, i'd like to think they found some of my concerns on the RAM issue to be fairly real whether or not they read the X1 thread. Kudos, a timely decision indeed

!? Standby time of about 6 weeks? That's amazing!
On a side note, someone's being cranky. |

thts brilliant..after all its s 1500 po-li battery..HTC or nokia is still lagging behind with its ion batteries and dont seem to learn from their mistakes..
the X1 trumps the diamond in the following fieds..
1)battery-much better and holds the basis of any succesful phone..other companies should learn from SE.
2)the screen-no doubt about it.
3)qwerty keyboard-lets see what the rapheal offers..
4)The UI- as a matter of fact..HTC has never been able to deliver quite as much they have promised..the Touchflo technology in the TOUCH was amazingly slow owing to bad software support and lack of implementation of proper video drivers.SE has a matter of fact have been trumps at programming software that takes the best out of every platform they put their hands on...
i wud like asomeone to confirm if HTC is outsourcing its software front from SE as SE has done so with the hardware part.. |

It's more like 5 weeks, NightBlade, but it's amazing nonetheless!

I thought your name was Marc??? And if you want to go into the insult route, its your choice.
Also...its natural you did not find funny people joking about the fact you, of all people, are now pretending to:
1 - not repeat stuff over and over and over and over, all over the place
2 - not judge things before they´re on the market

@Yakkaimono
Many thanks for the link,
@all
Well it appears the only change is the Ram no change to Video support. Yes they are great stand by times but really who is not going to use it and leave it in standby. The best case usage times aren't quite so good though and i wonder how Web Browsing will drain the battery or watching Video for that matter. I suppose we will need to wait for the finished product to be released to know for sure. But i would guess a second battery may be a wise move.
@Ares
Yet another mind reader are we? so you know what i mean and what i am thinking despite what i post amazing just how does that work then.
Any chance of the Winning Lotto numbers then?
I know why don't you enthrall us all with your tales of amazing but now cancelled UIQ devices that will be the most powerful and class leading in the next decade perhaps as i could do with laugh.
Marc

@sedude
The touch never had 3d hardware lol. It uses an omap 850 proessor.
The cruise and the dual use the msm 7200 with the ati hardware.
HTC has been working on the Diamond since Nov 06 the X1 is one of the iterations of that platform.
SE are not helping HTC with the software lol. The X1 delay is due to the software actually . |

@Dogmann, this is your quote
"I do hope you haven't missed the fact the X1 being called a Multimedia power house only does 30fps VGA in 3Gp and only 15fps VGA in H.264 and that's just for Europe. The X1's for the US which is where i believe SE sees it's target market and wants to break with this device has no H.264 support at all."
If you say SE has a bad habit of changing stuff in their phones right before releasing, then we can say the same for what you've quoted. Maybe because of their habit, they might add H.264 support at the last moment.
secondly, in your quote your clearly judged X1 before its release. You pretty much wrote off its multimedia capabilities right there without even checking out the device, which you claim you will and only after that you'll judge it.
I dont mean any offence, just something i noted. |

Nice improvement. Now the only thing I'd like to see changed in de next whitepaper is an increased color depth of the display: 18 bit (260K) instead of 16 bit(65K). That would be the icing on the cake for me! |

@DocT I think that 65K is WM6 limitation, so it will be withhout the icing, sorry :-)

If it is released in
september I'm
getting but if not I'm
not. I also prefer to
wait until it is
launched before I
get too excited
about the RAM
improvement in case
they do a P990i
again. I'm struggling
to trust SE
again. |
