Martin > There's been some questions about this before.

I'll be talking this week with the bluetooth-engineers about this part with mp3 player.

I dont believe its that simple,..and I dont think its possible with the current bluetooth-version,..but I'll ask about this

Matthew : You mean like Magic word ? Where you say something like "pick up phone".

I'm going to ask more about this, when going to Nextlink this week.

Hi Roberto

Actually I use headsets on left ear too,..but with the Bluespoon in this edition, its built for "right-ear-use" only.

You can't "turn it around". The backside is "one-piece" with an "ear-lock", that can be exchanged,..but you can't "flip it" over.

We've done this according to surveys,..simply by seeing which headsets sell most : left or right.
Right ear wins,..approx. 85 % uses this.

As I said, this is the first version ever of the Bluespoon,..and with the current production/methods its not possible to make a "left-version" too

The design of the back-piece might be altered in future versions,..or I should say, that it will be changed. There will be offered some different versions later on,..e.g. custom-made versions, left-ear-versions and so on

We (Nextlink) have discussed the "left-ear" issue a lot,..and of course we want people, that uses left-ear, to be able to use the headset as well.
But with the current model, it is too complicated to do both. Tecnically its not complicated,..but the production-part is. That we have to think about right now.

I know that some people dont hear very well on their right ear,..and of course, right now I cant do anything about that.

I wanted the left ear version as well, but I tried to use the right ear, for the headset, and found, that I actually dont have a problem with using "right ear versions".

From e.g. different "sound-tests", also scientific once,..humans are believed to hear in a "different way" on their left and right ears,..this is true.
But I found, that I can "hear" just as well on my right ear,..its just a bit different in sound.
At the same time, the Bluespoon has good sound quality, and sits very firmly,..this does make the "hearing-part" even better !

Re. auto answering - I'm not sure how the system is configured, but the obvious thing would be to turn on voice detection as soon as the phone rings. Unfortunately to make outgoing calls, there's no way of the headset knowing you want to make a call unless it's sensing for a voice all the time. Or unless there's a button on it? Or something more clever!

ADAM > believe You're right

The phone will not know, unless you tell it in some "clever" way, neither will the headset itself.

I'll try to ask our engineers about this.

Thanks Jan for the reply
If that's the case, I would just probably get the right-ear version, no choice so far. I just probably prefer to use my left ear over my right it's not because I cannot hear well with my right ear, it's just because I am more comfortable and as I said I get used to it. And thanks also that you particularly, is suggesting and discussing to Nexlint the left-ear version, It's so nice to hear that. I still wish that in the future you will be producing the left-ear version of this wonderful gadget.
I will still wait for the right ear version and I'm sure BLUESPOON will definitely be a hit. Thanks

Roberto > Your welcome

Yes I prefer left ear too,..always have.
And I have/had to get used to right ear too.

And I do believe too that Bluespoon will be a "hit",..and I also believe that in time, we'll be making left-ear versions as well.

we are discussing the future for the Bluespoon, and that includes e.g. "left-ear" versions.

To jh67

I'm backing the left ear lobby. I don't know where the stats come from, but judging by the feedback on this site, the manaufacturers could be harming their market by not making both available.
I, for one, will wait until it is available as I have always used my left ear and don't see why I should change to suit a tool. Tools are made to help humans not vice versa.

The Bluespoon has got two buttons,..and one is of course for answering calls,...we wouldnt make a headset without that.
Who gave You that idea ?

The grey-black parts on the headset, are the buttons for answering, pairing and so on.

It is very small, actually the worlds smallest bluetooth-headset, and very lightweight too ! And its very comfortable to wear,..you hardly "feel" You're wearing a headset.

UPDATE :

I was going to Nextlink this week,..but we are in the middle of a snowstorm here in DK (northern part), so I'm not really going anywhere right now, hehe.
And my CEO had to go to the US this week, for an important meeting.

So we're gonna have a meeting in next week instead
