Anybody able to sync the P800 with Outlook XP? |

Ok, I checked the USB cable driver and think it's the one from the CD (SusTeen driver for USB Cable DCU-11) - for Windows 2000. No luck.
Also have Windows 2000 SP3 installed, and also the latest updates for Office and Outlook from Microsoft... Aaaargh. What could be the reason???

Still have the problems with syncing Outlook XP... has anyone tried syncing with Outlook 2000?? Maybe a "downgrade" to this might help... Really tired of this sync problem... pisses me off. Now I have to go back to Sony/Clie.... |

I'm using windows XP pro.
as well as Outlook XP
I had no problems synchronizing contacts but, I had problems synchronizing my calendar. Played with the settings but it didn't seem to work, so I manually entered all my calendar entries into the P800. After doing so I am able to synchronize my outlook calendar with my p800 calendar entries. That’s the only weird problem I had, with synchronizing anyways. Cause the p800 tends to crash on me at least once a day. So far today it didn't crash.. Maybe it might stop doing that

Jonnor, and everyone else having problems syncing the P800 to Outlook - please send emails/call to Sony Ericsson so that they know about the problem:

I'm praying that they'll come out with a patch soon...

Sigh. Close to a week now, and no solution in sight. Sob.
Come on chaps, throw any suggestion you can here. I've know some people have synced successfully (although there have also been lots who haven't been able to, like yours truly), so it's got to be some setting issue...

I have the same exact experience with you cunningman.
I am using a desktop with Windows XP Pro and Outlook XP. Synch has not started message, After a while, program crashes - "program not responding" message.
However, I have a Fujitsu P1110 notebook with Windows XP Home ed and Outlook XP installed and it works fine! I can do a backup/restore and synchronize my data.
I am also really confused why it won't work on my desktop computer.

i'm another user who face the exact same problem as described but still not luck.
I've tried the following (not in any particular order):
1. install the software into my home desktop (XPPro/Outlook XP) which is pretty clean
2. Master reset the phone
3. Create dummy entries in Contacts, Calender and Task.
4. Uninstall previous MPM for T68i, as well as XTNDConnect, and reinstall PCSuite
5. Use IR instead
6. Remove bluetooth driver, reinstall
7. Configure the sync software to use a particular outlook folder, rather then 'default'
8. Let it run overnight
My phone is a released version- R2B Phone, R2C Organiser.

I also can't sync with Outlook Express 6 on WinXP (without SP1).
P800 commercial release is on a USB cradle - it will sync the address book (and that only), backup and restore work as well.
However - calendar, Outlook Express 6 email, tasks and jotter remain greyed out. Nothing happens during synch.

Don't despair, I'm sure they'll sort it out. In a way I'm "glad" to hear that someone else has exactly the same problems. I myself can also access, transfer files between the P800 and my PC, but not syncronize. Same message appears as you've mentioned.
Unfortunately I'm not a "techie" and as such I have to rely on someone to help me too.
Please, anyone that knows how this sync problem can be resolved? |

maybe i can help figure this out when i get a P800.....
sync is so time-saving.
and that's what i always did when i had my t68i.
it meant less hassle..
i hope Outlook XP wont let me down if i get a P800...

Ditto - I shall get the sync working even though I might use Bluetooth.
The fact that others have done it in a similar environment suggests to me that it must be possible, and there must be something fundamentally different, such as a USB driver.
I can't wait to play and get it going... I also am lucky enough to have access to a decent array of machines / OS's so it might be easier to isolate the problem.
Of course if anyone wants to send me their P800 to play with until I get mine... |

It's great to see that I'm not the only person with the Outlook synchronisation problem. I'm really hoping Sony Ericsson does something about it soon. Frankly I'm surprised how they let this slip through the betas, given how long it took them to release the product.
I'm starting to think it's something to do with various combinations of chipsets/Outlook version/Windows version/other existing drivers - given how different people have had different results with the same Outlook and Windows version - there must be something else in the mix that causes the difference.
By the way, I've emailed twice to Sony Ericsson - nothing other than the autoresponse acknowledgement email so far.
Sigh.
