Baywatch is quite good to watch I think it's shown on UKTV Gold
I don't personally think kids would watch it though!
I think it's odd that they pull Simpsons I could understand South Park but does the Simpsons penetrate anything that will upset kids
I don't personally watch it myself its quite popular but rather
boring to me
I prefer South Park
kids shouldn't watch it though!

So very very true...
Chris: Hey little dude, how about some ice cream?
Stewie: Yes I could go for a frozen treat right about now. But no sprinkles. And for every sprinkle I find, I shall kill you.

I agree, The Simpsons is inapropriate for children, and it DOES set bad examples. Even kids own TV seems to these days.
My 'little brother' of sorts I've seen grow up from birth to the age of nine now, and his father lets him watch the Simpsons when he's round there. And when he comes back, he imitates everything he's seen, causing havock for us.
But not just that, he used to watch some kids TV cartoon (designed for kids his age) and one of the characters was a spiteful litle shit who called his brother 'girl pants' all the time, and so he repeated this all day every day for months in an annoying, menancing tone, because he'd seen it on TV.

@ Daedalus85...
What do you think about the alternative they chose though?
Disfunctional, badly behaved family to sexy half-nude women running in slow motion to best capture their breast size.
Personally I haven't a problem with either lol, but for children...?
EDIT: Also I believe the other cartoon you were talking about is 'Cramp Twins'.

Yeah, but their lady bits are always covered up so I don't see a problem with kids watching Baywatch?
Other than the fact that it's crap, of course...

^ Lol, agreed.
However, don't get me wrong - personally I'm not in the slightest bit bothered about what these children are watching in Venezuela, doesn't bother me. I simply saw the article and the new choice of program (Baywatch) and a slight 'o_O eh?' went through my mind, tad odd/funny maybe.

Simpsons has been totally unsuitable for children for several series now. People who assume that its for children because its animated are either naive or not smart enough to 'get' the jokes. This is extreme black humour (though not as extreme as South Park) and children are too impressionable to understand black humour and realise that its not how people think or act. I used to ban my eldest son from watching The Simpson's until he turned 12, but my ex-wife would let him watch it regardless...
Baywatch on the other hand, is quite harmless.
On the subject of animated programs, I'm not impressed with how Pixar use 'kids' movies like Shark Tales to push political messages such as Gay issues during public debate in the US on Gay marriage. When I took my eldest son (then aged 10) to see it during the school holidays, the message went right over his head - though all the adults present sniggered - and I was surprised that in a PGR rated movie the majority of children present were aged 4 - 7yrs, too young for a parental discussion about the content.
These kids are probably exposed to The Simpsons too.

Maybe new Simpsons episodes should be shown a bit later then, like Family Guy (which is designed for an adult audience) shown on BB3 at gone 11-midnight etc.
On that note carkitter, I remember in secondary school (year 9) we did a whole section of the syllabus on The Simpsons in English. Sure I didn't complain, got to watch Simpsons videos in lessons etc.

Yes the alternative is probably even worse, but either one isn't a good idea.
