the circled area is not different in any way to that on the real pictures posted. It's also identical to my own pair.
People can say what they like, but on appearance alone, the only thing that is different about these headphones from the real thing is the packaging. And the packaging is not masquarading in any way as "SE", so if the headphones are such good fakes, why would the counterfeiter stop at the packaging?
IMHO these headphones are 100% original. Take them back to the store and have them exchanged as faulty.

the one thing that kinda drove me to the "fake" side most is where the connector has the wire coming out of, if you look at mine, and then the ones in question, you can see.

Yeah, mine have it coming out of the side whereas yours have it coming out of the bottom.

with all respect, I believe you are mistaken. To me, it looks like both are coming out of the bottom. I also compared it to my HPM-70 (which is identical in all but colour).
We would really need to see his ear bud from another angle to be sure, but when I look at my HPM-70 earbud at the same angle as the picture you circled, it looks identical to me.
