people are buying it because it is the best(at the moment)5mp sony ericsson camera phone.
some people have had a few firmware bugs but after the next couple of releases they should be fixed. |

That's going way over the top. After a few more firmware updates it will be what the K800 was. |

I find this phone really stylish that I wouldn't mind having it, at least until it's problems are sorted out.

The reason I buy it is.. the screen is beautiful, is crystal clear. QVGA in the most proper physical size (for me) for both largeness and pixel density.
The camera is really good, doesn't tend to produce blurry images cause of the fast aperture speed. Xenon flash is awesome, with a bit of EV and scene changing, it can create some magic.
Last reason.. it reminds me of my beloved S700i: the bulky design, the fast aperture speed, the big lens, the screen's physical size.

K850i (for me) is the obvious choice for upgrading after having K750i for about 2 yrs now. sure, I was tempted by Nokia N82 for its features, but since my husband has N95, it would be like having 2 exact phones only different shape and look plus the built in accelerometer that N82 has.
I find that K850 is not as good as I expected but I can live with it. the picture quality still not as good as an actual 5MP digital camera, but this is a phone with built in cam, not a full digicam, so I can't complain much

Add one reason:
You have to buy it cause the PhotoDJ is equipped with new feature that is superb: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=166120
You can say goodbye to washed out pics. Say welcome to (probably) the best CMOS 5MP cam-phone todays (since the new PhotoDJ helps a lot to the post-processing, of course without changing the original EXIF data).

why ppl buying it? a choice is a matter of taste, as usually. some like the design, some are amazed of the 5 mp cam. imo the most ppl take it cos of the camera, it looks actually like a digi cam with fone features.

Why people buy it? One word and let me spell it out for you:
C.Y.B.E.R.S.H.O.T
It's the highest megapixeled cybershot phone. That's the one and only reason IMO because aside from this, it's the epitome of SE laziness, complacency and tendency to ride on other brand's popularity. That's why even the non-camera oriented all round device N95 beats it in terms of quality, sad but true. Don't even get me started on the awkward design.

by the way even though some of you say the picture quality no good, its a excellent print for 4x6(4R) pictures, even better in 3R....dont tell me you'll print your pictures into a3 or even a1 sizes, please be realistic here??So i guess it the individual himself/herself....
