I have to say I'm a old Ericsson user too, but I did own a Nokia when Ericsson was on bottom of the line, Come back to Ericsson when T39 released.. However must of my friend still use SE phones since they have used them before, don't tell me why they don't change brand, maybe SE has of the best menu system with good looking phones.. That's why they choose them. yes, some of them use smart phone, those are most HTC smart phones..

Well some may not agree with me, but I'm satisfied some may not.. with mine SE phones except one, that's Z1010, one of the worst SE phone ever they have made..

Stop the whining and start the partying!

SE broke the 100 million barrier!!!!!!!

Increased Profits, Inreased Market Share, and ASP still 1.5 times that of Nokia!!!!

Now where I put that champagne? Oh here it is!

Yeah, a pleasant surprise indeed. But like a big wheel, we all know the principals of dynamics. They are still reaping the benefits of their strategy from 2 years ago, combining Sony brands into SE phones and having the leading technology in imaging and mobile music. With the latter being incresingly sluggish of late, their branding strategy will go stale soon, so they better cook up some new and innovative technologies with the profits they earned and parametrically increase the wheel's radius so that they can stay on top much longer, there's no room for a drop in sales if they are to keep their winning stride

On the contrary, I don't see any sign that people will tire of Walkman and Cyber-shot. They're immensely strong thanks to good marketing and there will always be a market for music-phones, remember that not everyone who buys music phones actually puts music on them.

I think what has been missing for the past couple of years is a 'halo effect' which was present when the K800i was launched. It was so popular it drew attention to the rest of the SE range.

With a couple of high-profile devices coming up in the next couple of months it will very much be in the spotlight again as most people would agree, that the 2007's offerings were limited.

Both performing really well. A lot of people are still waiting for this mobile boom to come to end but it seems to be going on and on, even when the economy itself is quite weak.

I agree with this 110%. SE HAS to bring out high end, fresh devices that would have enough gravity to gel the whole range together as a top notch brand. But as with your earlier statement regarding their cybershot and walkman products, competition is getting stiffer by the day and Nokia is stepping up to the game quite successfuly. I still think it's just a matter of time before people compare and find out the truth, about SE's seemingly lack of new technologies that MATTER recently

I think most people would agree with that. There has been hardly any of 2007's offerings that you can class as truly high-end - in our eyes anyway.

The K850i for example, although its SE's flagship cameraphone, is by no means a high-end device compared to what's available from other brands.

No a lot of people are waiting for a start.See with the release of n95 which has changed the way what mobile phones does. Now people have started looking at it as mini laptop, a computer(rather than just early days of attending calls, then came music and imaging now its time to replace our laptops and use mini laptops)The next episode is yet to begin....no its just the begining.See how much of curiosity N95 has generated, with many threads on esato asking and dreaming about n95 successor.
