Sorry but personally i think mobile phone cameras will never be up to the standard of dedicated digital cameras.

Companies may start putting 7.2/8mp cameras in their phones. But nothing will compare to a digital camera.
If you live in a glass house, don't be chuckin stuff about.

@Lunion,

I agree with you. I'm only comparing the i-mobile 902 with a couple of four year old digicams. I wouldn't bother posting a comparison of it with my brand new Canon Digital IXUS 860 IS

Having said that, with the other camera phone offerings (K850i, N95, G800, KU990), how far back in time would you have to go until a comparison could be made with old digicam technology where the camera phones could compete? And then I mean in all areas, including low light sensitivity!

Only when camera phone producers start putting larger lenses and better sensors (same size CCD/larger CMOS), then camera phones can start competing with digital cameras. But that's unlikely to happen:

1. Phone prices would go up, and camera phone prices are already close or above digital camera prices! (My 860 IS is cheaper than a K850i!)

2. Since the producers of these two technologies in most cases are the same! (Except for Nokia, which AFAIK doesn't make any digicams.)
