se mobile phones video-format . . . |

Thanks for all of your INPUTS mates . . . though I've experienced some problems with the conversion . . . what I am doin' is compiling some small-video-clips into one presentation resulting to around 30-50 MB in file size. What I've noticed is that when I compile say, 4-6 short-video-clips into ONE (MPEG-4) . . . the END result will NOT play in my P990i BUT . . . when I will copy a SINGLE video-clip (1-5 MB in file size) . . . the clip will DO play in my fone . . . NOW, I still would have to CONVERT the COMPILED MPEG-4 video (30-50 MB) to 3gp . . . converting a 30-60 MB takes about 30 minutes !
Btw, I am using Nero StartSmart when compiling the video-clips . . .

What video codec are you using for the compiled video?

No, software codec, as in H.263, DIVX etc.
SE phones only playback H.263, Divx or 3GP encoded video. If the nero compilation uses for example H.264, or Xvid codecs, then your phone won't be able to play it.
"MP4" is a container, the "codec" is the format of the video within the container. So just being MP4, is not necessarily enough for your phone to support it. The codec within the MP4 has to be supported also. Hope that helps

@max - I will make screen-shot of THAT setting here a BIT later when I am accessing the NERO-software . . .
I guess for the meantime, I will have to make a LIMITED compilation, say, around 20 MB-max ! To make it RUN through . . . or make a single-video-conversion and NOT compiled
Thanks - Mad Max !

@max - OK, I forgot to ADD with my last post here that whenever I will be IMPORTING a video-file from my document folder that are in - 3gp format . . . the NERO software always shows this message:
So, in short . . . I cannot COMPILE short-video-clip in 3gp format ONLY in: MPEGs
Also, I made notice that whenever I am converting some video-clips in MPEG4 to 3 gp format the END result is SOMETIMES 2/3 of the original file size or it becomes smaller . . .

@jojo
I think you should use another converter
BEST i have ever tested (among nearly 20 progs)
1-MPEG4 DIRECT MAKER (you can download it's cracked version from anywhere)
2-TOTAL VIDEO CONVERTER
3-M3 VIDEO CONVERTER (special se conversion,,, you can even choose your phone model)
use any of the above and settings i have mentioned before and you'r done!
btw on the shot you have posted, i can not see the codec that you are using.
@max_wedge
i have tried 320x240 WMV on K800 and it worked OK! |

@chombos1, I think you are right about the Nero converter - I use M3 and with that never have a problem with conversions, no matter what length (I do full length movies with it, as well as music videos)
Super is also good, but a bit complex for the beginner.
Interesting what you say about WMV - SE video standards whitepaper says 176x144 only for WMV. I tried converting some videos to WMV 320x240 with no luck.
But if you say you can play them I believe you. What version firmware on your K800?

@max_wedge
it was my brother's K800 and there is no way for me to get it right now
don't sure what was the settings for that wmv as i tested that in June
and i think it was not on newest firmware
i have some 320x240 wmvs with that format on my old PC... and i do not have access to it now... will check the settings when i return home!
Right about the converter
MPEG4 direct maker also have some complicated conversion but is the one when you master it (it supports 99% of video formats that you may even think of) and no delay between video and audio. (great quality) |

@chombos - Thanks for the advice . . .
@max - I use the Nero Convertor when making VCDs/DVDs . . . I think it's havin' problems with vids in 3gp format . . . but with MPEGs it's just OK . . .
What I've also noticed was that when I will be making a tipsy-turvey-conversion from MPEG to 3 gp ( a LONG one at that . . .) the END voice (audio)-result always resembles that of the CHIPMUNKS or at my end it's better called: The MATUTINA-effect . . .
