Yikes.

I had the same problem as you; dust under the lens. But you know what? I bought a can of compressed air with the tube extension for a high-pressure stream. I fired the air at the crack (like in your first picture, around the camera rim) and all the dust dissapeared. It was easy as that, and saved me the hassle of opening the phone.

Perhaps you ought to consider other solutions before doing something as drastic (and stupid) to your phone!

(by the way, I 100% agree with you on the flashburn, it's horrid and it reminds me of the K800i flashburn, hoped the K850i, being the ultimate of the Cybershot series, would fix this crap)

ha! he mistakenly scratched the phone and is feeling bad about it.

the way i feel about mine, i'd happily give break it into pieces with a hammer.
Bloody thing! admit it people, the current firmware sucks. use the k850, then hold a w810, k750,w580 or just about any damn SE phone and see the difference. what do we dish out the extra cash for? this? waiting for months for a bloody firmware update? if the phone was imperfect, why release it in the first place? why not release a good,if not perfect, final product instead of a shoddy one that creates bad publicity and harms the company's image?

I'm sorry to say, but if u analyse ESATO:
"only take a Sony Ericsson"

the whole purpose of this site is being ruined thanx to the numb skulls in the SE admin!

and yeah, NOKIAS! [addsig]

I really can't understand what great brains in SE thought of putting a glass protection cover over the actual lens cover. The job of the cover is supposed to be protecting from dust, scratches and lens damage. Having a glass cover over the cover is like disabling the actuall cover! If the glass cover gets scratched or broken, it's like having no cover at all!! And far from all these, it isn't even dustproof!!
I much-much prefer the k810. The best SE phone so ever!

I have been using Sony Ericsson phones from the moment they became Sony Ericsson. I love the phones, they are fantastic but one thing they are NOT is the old Nokia green screens that would still work after bing dropped from a three story building. We gotta be somewhat gentle with them.

1. K850 camera flash being too bright: Try setting scenes to "documents"
2. Try flashing your phone with a firmware specific to the region your in. I flashed mine with some Southern Asia firmware and the 3G would not work at all.

o dear, That's why I avoide phones off ebay. More trouble that its worth these days because you just don't know what a user has done to it.

Well I got my K770 from ebay.de - brand new it still had the protective plastic on the display Just make sure the seller is genuine - don't buy stuff from people with less than 90% or people with very few transactions behind them

Haha, my old K750 (before I lost it) was indestructable! I dropped it in a half full cup of water and the toilet and it still survived!! Worked perfect in fact after being dried out and cleaned lol.
