Absolutely not. It's not over priced, and as said, the US dollar is very low and 550 euros isn't much for a high-end phone in Europe. W960 is priced at a very reasonable level.

with its 2006 era specs, I certainly think at 550euros, the W960 is definitely a big rip-off considering the N95-8Gb which beats W960 at every conceivable aspects (except TS) is also selling for about the same price. |

Agree mate, its highly higly over priced.
It doesnt even have a 5mp camera,Nor a audio jack which for ex a music phone like n81 8gb has,and not to forget the bad video recording capabilities of w960i,which other mid end music phones like 5600 can even do it in VGA.And the green tint problem, doesnt seems to be solved.Considering the quality of plastic used, and while seeing the plasticy stylus, one does get a feeling of low end phone. And last but not least w960 doesnt even feature a dedicated audio chip, like other music phones.and its priced above the range of N81 8GB,N82 which was released at nominal price of 450 euros, which has all features including 5mp cam,gps,3.5mm jack,tv out, wlan b/g and much more it cost only 450 euro for launch price
SE MUST BE MAD TO PRICE IT LIKE ThIS
Dude, surely the price will drop in a few days after it's released. Relax, man.
You really don't need to exaggerate. |

Btw, guys, I actually heard that the price in Asia might be around 435 Euros, which is quite a good price. Not too sure about that though. |

According to W960i.
I do have one W800i as has been real good machine so far
but I also wanted the functionality of W960i on top.
So I bought one on Friday 2007-11-30 and it did cost 5329:- SEK.
I was so excited to get the box opened and feel the machine in my hand
and start to load the battery ...
But .. there were no chance to open the cover for the battery and SIM-card.
In manual it said: Press a little in the front of the cover and slide it backwards.
Neither I, or my daughter could open it. I drove back to where I bought the
phone and asked them to fix it ... but they couldn't open it.
They fetched a new phone .. same problem, first time it was opened
but closing it again made it impossible to open again.
They fetched a third machine, it was possible to open and they put in
the battery so I could load it for 2.5 hours at home.
Talking to "3" to get a SIM-card
was interesting but when I should open the cover to be sure to
be able to put in the SIM-card, that was impossible.
I was extremely upset and sad since I had waited for this machine since
last summer .. and I had paid any price to get one.
I drove back to the place I bought it .. and they coildnt open the cover either.
Neither the shop or I was interested to continue this stupid ruining of
new phones so I asked to get money back and that was no problem .. of course.
But 3 machines were ruined .. isn't that sad?
So before you pay for these phones .. make sure the cover is possible to open
as many times as you wish, even with battery in the w960i.
The point is that with battery inserted, there were no space
to carefully press the cover down.
I am sad, I am upset .. but I willnot tell where I bought it since they
have no part in these problems. These were new unopened packages
from SE .. and they tried their best to help me.
I am disappointed.

@birdien
im assuming the manual would state that you would need to push down on the 3 circles/dots below the camera with your thumb and push down?
Sure all you just didnt know how to open the cover?
I really dont see how could get a battery cover wrong......... but if it wasnt just you/shop workers not knowing how to do it properly, and there is generally a problem with some w960's, tis very bad on 's behalf!

@hobbs
i agree, need more than 1 complaint..... but still, 3 units?
though we know how hard it can be to get some battery covers off (s500/w580 anyone!)
