I couldn't stand another minute with my phone crippled with the Vodafone firmware so... despite a proper 'generic' firmware not being available yet I just ran DaVinci (todays version of the client) and used firmware - "CUSTOMIZED UK/ BLUE (1202-5694 | WESTERN-EUROPE)"
RESULT!!
ITS PERFECT!
I'm MEGA chuffed. Only took about 5 mins. Its a revelation... I may start to like the phone now!!

Go on then I'll give it a try....
later (took me more than 5 minutes because it had to download about 80mb of firmware files)...
It turns out that the firmware labelled "CUSTOMIZED UK/ BLUE (1202-5694 | WESTERN-EUROPE)" is actually generic and unbranded and for the UK, going through the service tests showed me so. However, I'm confused as to why the DaVinci client doesn't show that firmware when you select to view only generic firmwares or why they've labelled it differently to how they've named previous unbranded firmware. If there are any DaVinci team members here on esato please speak now.
I'm really amazed at how bad the Voda firmware was. It was immensely slow by comparison to the unbranded firmware.
@SE-Naz
I'll do some pictures when I get to work (probably instead of working) you want anything in particular?

So will this "customised" firmware let you use the SE site for updates now?
I've got credits ready to remove the vodaphone branding (yeuk) . |

Just to confirm, this removes the vodafone icons? I don't want to waste another 10 credits on this if it does not do the job

You beat me to it with the photos.
It seems to me the 'customised' bit refers to customising it to the UK i.e. with language packs you'd expect if you bought it direct from in the UK or western Europe and in the Data Accounts under internet settings it has preloaded all the settings for major UK networks., this is also part of the customisation. Perhaps SE have never released a truly generic K850 firmware, they've customised the firmware for each region that the phone is sold.
@MJH74
I'm taking it that when realease newer firmware it'll update through SEUS and still be debranded.
I have a dig bick You read that wrong |

@Kaiser_Man
Congrats...
Best thing to do would be to try on SEUS and see what your phone gets recognised as to see if it will work...
Cheers for the pics
