Just from my basic research...
Kingston micro sd
Read 9MB/sec, Write: 7MB/sec
M2
Read 10MBps Write 3MBps
I'm going to buy Sandisk memory card, so comparing microSD and M2 from Sandisk - are there also such a big differences in writing speed? If so, microSD seems to be a better choice. |

from my personal experience with these two memory card types, i could say that the memory stick is better along general terms especially with reliability. my almost a year of Samsung D600 use gave me two busted microSDs (Sandisk 512MB and a Kingston 1GB) that lead me where i started with it in the first place -- its very own Sandisk 64MB that came with the package:-(
i would forget the write speed in the name of reliability.
just my two cents... cheers!

A small note on Performance and MicroSD
Performance:
While some MicroSD are faster than M2, you will not see this performance unless you take the card out of the K850 and use a USB2.0 reader. Otherwise, you are stuck at about 0.5MB/sec (USB1.0 speed).
MicroSD -- No problem if bought at a reputable store and you buy a reputable brand. For example Best Buy and SanDisk. Without a reputable store you will risk buying a fake. Without a reputable brand you may risk buying a worthless piece of junk. If you ignore store, you may be stuck with a piece of junk that says SanDisk but contains Korea or Chinese counterfiets.
M2 - Both Sony / SanDisk make M2. It is very reliable and very well controlled as far as specs and standards are concerned. You won't find this with MicroSD. There are 1000's of card and host vendors each with a different idea about specs/standards - basically the wild, wild, west.
Another thing to consider is the MicroSD is an anomoly with SE phones. The K850 is the only phone in recent history (or future) that takes a MicroSD. This means, when you get sick of the piss-poor design of the K850 and trade it for a better SE design, you will need to buy an M2.
My 35 cents.

Another thing to consider, if you buy a MicroSD - you can still use it in a Nokia (& loads of other devices) when you get fed up with the lastest SE efferts at top of the range phones!!! |
