Still on K850 & N95 |

i had a k750i which was excellent then i had the k800 which i liked but not as much as the k750i including the fact that one was a 2mp and the other 3.2mp.
I now use a n95 and i am more than happy with the pics/videos it takes, i think it depends on what you are going to do with the pics once you have taken them.
Print them, use as a screen saver for pc etc.
The k850 is a much better looking phone than the N95(original)

cant realy understand WHY people talk about N95..(no offend).
it have such a bad design, (bad slide/chassis, etc), bad batterylife, mediocre GPS, realy ugly and realy expensive....
if you looking for a GPS..buy a real one...(its a BIG different...we have a real GPS on our boat, its locking on satelit much much better/faster...N95 build in GPS is a joke compared to a real GPS)
i think k850 win on nearly everything....the design, camera (both cameras is good), 3.0 + Megabass, brighter screen, much better battery life, cheaper and much more beatiful
im only intersted on one Nokia phone, and thats N82...looks realy nice i think..(except for the build in GPS....dont understand why Nokia exhort with their build in GPS....you need a battery with a size of a brick to manage a GPS...if you dont want to end like N95 miserable battery-life)

Carl-Zeiss has nothing to do to nokia cams at all. it's nokia's persistence to use the post processing(oversaturation/oversharpening) that makes their pictures crap and unnatural. sadly this issue has not been present on Nokia N90, which is why i consider it the real best camera along with K750/W800 on their reigning time, actually carl-zeiss lens are one of the best lenses in the world and sony cameras perfectly exhibit it's power. just look at T-series cameras(especially the T100/T200), would you imagine that even how tiny that lens could be then it would be so powerful as it was!

Sebby, your avatr shows you as a K850 owner. Did you own a K750 before the switch?
Satisifed?
I have owned a K750 (although that was 2 phones ago; my last was the W810). The K750 was probably my favourite SE (along with the T610), and at the moment, I'm not as excited about the K850 as I was about either of these phones. I expected to be pretty excited about the 5mp camera, but it seems it can't even taken a decent indoor photo at the moment due to the issue with the flash (although there is a workaround by changing the flash to redeye reduction).
Saying that, I do love the K850 and its features, but the software is buggy (I know that'll be sorted) and the build quality isn't great. I may try and get it changed at the weekend. But I am happy with it, and once the software issues are resolved, it'll be much better.

If you are interested in N95 vs K850 comparison (phone as a whole and in terms of specs and value for money), N95 wins hands down in ALL aspects except battery life & xenon flash.
1. Camera. K850 loses to N95 as a whole. (Following comparisons confirm this)

2. N95 VGA 30fps video recording leaves K850 QVGA in the dust.
3. N95 2.6in screen is 40% bigger in terms of viewable area than K850 2.2inch
4. N95 has built-in WIFI. K850 dont.
5. N95 has built-in GPS + free maps + navigation. K850 dont.
6. N95 has tv-out. K850 dont.
7. N95 has external stereo speakers. K850 dont.
8. N95 has standard 3.5mm jack & mini-USB connectors. K850 uses proprietary connectors (requiring you to carry extra adapters).
9. N95 can view Office documents. K850 cant.
10. N95 has better multimedia and web capabilities than K850 incl. but not limited to gallery, photo/video blogging, safari browser, video centre, better media format handling and of course native n-gage games support.
11. N95 has much better PIMs than K850 incl. free add-on like threaded-sms, msn live, Active Today screen, advance call management (call filters, answering m/c)
12. N95 is smartphone with unlimited possibilities of customisation and functionalities expansion. K850 is just a normal phone with very limited possibiliites.
13. N95 can do VOIP calls. K850 can't.
14. Depending on where you are in the world, N95 is only 20 to 80 euro more expensive than K850
With the above factors, I just can't see any rational reason why people still want to consider buying K850 (no offence intended to those who own the K850).

I got a friend who just sold his classic n95 for the K850i, he said it was the battery life that sucked and the phone itself was too bulky.
It all depends on individuals not what a phone can do that catch the buyers.

The reason is because there are a lot more things you can do with N95 like WIFI, GPS, big screen, fast processor and record vga video. If N95 is used like a K850 (i.e. running the same boring run-of-the-mill phone stuff), then N95 battery can most probably last 2-3 days which is good enough for most people. |

thats rubbish...i know several people who charge the battery mostly 1-2 times each day (just because they use some its functions)....N95 is a BIG misstake.
such a ugly phone.....should never pay so much money for that piece of crap

charge 1-2 times a day? Only if you use WIFI or GPS continously non-stop.
Wait...K850 dont have any of these features.
deceive yourself all you want if that makes you feel better
btw: where are your full sized picts?? |

not trying to support the k850i here, or trying to start a mini-war but both n95's i owned, i did not use gps once on either, and barely used wifi as i use my laptop, and still i was forced to charge again (twice a day)before the end of the day. And i did not use the camera/video much either.

I'm not a Nokia hater as I do have Nokias. I remember my N95 last summer. I was left with a dead battery on our trip but I charged it the morning. I just took some pics, about 20mins of music playback and a 2min video. Bad battery, its just so illogical to cram those features using a useless battery.

everybody has missed the point here. i don't even know why i'm joining in.these are two totally different phones, meaning different target markets.the main feature they have in common is a 5mp camera, that's about all you can compare about the two.besides the camera,if anyone thinks java can be better than the feature packed symbian, then i pity you.it all depends on your personal needs
k850i=5mp cam java phone
n95=5mp cam symbian phone
i think we all know that now
