Comprehensive info on image stabilisation techniques here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image_stabilization
Note on digital image stabilisation:
"This technique shifts the electronic image from frame to frame of video, enough to counteract the motion. It uses pixels outside the border of the visible frame to provide a buffer for the motion." |

At least you need lot of good lighting I would say to avoild too much noise in the pictures. Taking photos of distant objects in bad light is probably not a good case where you want to use the stabilizor.
Checkout the post below where apotts have compared pictures with and without the stabilizer enabled.

Look under "edit" , or shift to the last icon(the bag icon) to find. |

when you take pics do you press the button down and then lift your finger off the camera button or do you keep your your finger pressed down until the photo has been taken? |

HI,
I probably had soem problems with my k850i.
No matter what happen, the camera just won't take good photos. I don't know why all my shots turn out blur. The lens glass is clean. My hand is on the side of the camera, not the back.
I am very puzzled about it. I could not get sharp images despite all there is in this forum. Have I missed out something ? |

Hold your camera very still, including autofocus period. Also hold your camera still while taking pictures. Off the stabilizer. It will cause more jaggines thd higher ISO.Release the shutter after the phone displays "saving" |

@plankgatan!
NICE Thread FINALLY somebody listened to me in the other 2 threads regarding ISO. I knew better pictures would show on using the K850i; as your photos thus far where ALWAYS superior to any on the net & on Esato forums.
This is going to be a great sticky! |

I will try my best to follow your advise. It's just that, no matter what I did, the photo seems unclear. My old K750 and K800i seems to take better photo (It just feel that way)
As usual, hopes that a firmware update will help matters soon... |

I've just received my k850i and am experiencing the problems with the flash which are adressed very well in other threads on here but I've got a couple of other queries:
1) I can't seem to change ISO level.
The radio button against 'AUTO' is selected but when I scroll down to ISO 100, ISO 200 and ISO 400 I can't select any of these options. There are no radio buttons against the ISO choices.
For example I scroll down to highlight ISO 200 and the select button changes to an 'i' and if I press it it comes up with a message "Currently Unavailable"
2) Same with MACRO. It seems as though this funtion is always in AUTO mode with no way of selecting either MACRO or INFINITE. When I try to select them then I get "Currently Unavailable"
Am I just doing something wrong or is my phone faulty?
cheers |
