well it would be a more long term thing i was hoping for as i cba to get new consoles all the time...i also have a PS2 slimline and a standard Xbox btw but i will probably be selling at least one when i get a new console

Its your choice mate go for it..i find the 40 gb ps3 better than xbox though.
If i had to choose with 300gbp today..i'd go with the ps3..
I see a blu ray player + free online + i can connect my 200 gb sata hdd+ i can connect a usb card reader(which i wont ever need with 200gb) + i have more than 10 games to look forward to come november out of which 4 are exclusives and last but not the least...i don't have to fear RROD.

Its your choice mate go for it..i find the 40 gb ps3 better than xbox though.
If i had to choose with 300gbp today..i'd go with the ps3..
I see a blu ray player + free online + i can connect my 200 gb sata hdd+ i can connect a usb card reader(which i wont ever need with 200gb) + i have more than 10 games to look forward to come november out of which 4 are exclusives and last but not the least...i don't have to fear RROD.
But 300 quid will only get you a ps3, 300 quid if spent on an xbox 360 will get you the console, 2 controlers halo 3 and firza 2 and £45 left over (buy another game)/
And that deal was at gamestation! Went all round town last saterday in loads of shops, and for me that was the best deal!

i reckon i'll probably go for the 360...and about that RROD...i heard it was called 3 red lights of death or sumat :s? anyway apparently thts caused by keeping the power cord too near the 360 or sparking it by wiggling the connector....
now to decide whether or not its an elite or premium i want....and a good steering wheel could come in handy too

@danny no work has started on 360 ut3...while ps3 is getting ut3 this year..so even if it comes to xbox don't expect it by 2009. And about 360 games..the thing is.. the best of 360 has come and gone..halo 3, pgr4, forza..while the ps3 is just starting to peak..with all those games i mentioned + mgs 4,killzone 2, grand turismo 5,soul calibur,devil may cry,sf4..+ blu ray becoming cheaper and and becoming the standard soon..imo its a great time to be a ps3 owner which i proudly am

I'll give you a a preview of call of duty 4..and read this about how it fared out between the wii,360 and ps3..
"Still, as strong as Call of Duty 4 is shaping up to be in the gameplay department, the most immediately impressive aspect is by far its graphics. The PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions all look surprisingly similar, but that's not due to one platform being the lead; Infinity Ward personally assured us that development occurred simultaneously on all three platforms, and that there wasn't a base system. With that said, the console similarities end when it comes to textures, lighting and resolutions, because those three areas make the PlayStation 3 version definitely excel over the Xbox 360 SKU. The fact is some of the past multiplat games have looked better on the 360..but most developers said then they were taking time to figure out the ps3 cell structure..but now the results are better.. many multiplats are better on ps3 ex tiger woods 08 and now COD 4..and future well there's no doubt ps3 will be better graphically...because the cell is said to be 10x more powerful than intel's quad core processor..with that you can understand the power the ps3 has inside it..

The PS3 is way more powerful than the 360... on paper.
But in real life it makes sod all difference, esspecially on a non HD TV set.

UT on the 360 has the same release date as the PS3 version ....
And as for the best of the 360 come and gone you forgot gears of war, the imo best 360 game to date.
And were getting Devil may cry
Im getting a PS3, im no fanboy. I just know the 360 is an all around better console
