The UI feels really easy to get used to accoarding to that simulator. I'm also pleased to see the back 'function' still there, so it hasn't really be discarded, just moved.

Speaking about the BACK function ..... I could NOT press and hold the back function touch-key to leap all the way back to the home screen. I don't know if its a limitation in the simulator (most likely) or something reflected in the new phone? I use this immensely and its so ubiquitous that I didn't think of it until now. Unless the red hangup button does the same thing - just auto minimizing applications.

Browser can this be used in the sim?

Omg, "Media" replaces the file manager?
That sucks!

And why isn't the back touchkey on the left? The back softkey used to be on the left, so it would be right to put the back touchkey on the left :-/

@Prom1

I couldn't get it to work either and that is essential in the UI. It won't be long till we find out I suppose.

don't worry, the direction pad doesn't scroll when held down either, so I'm sure it's just a limitation of the emulator.

And the browser in the emulator doesn't work

The end key however pops you straight back to standby without having to hold it. So maybe this does replace the function of hold to go back to standby?

Well the Call END button does the same thing : jumping back to the home screen ... however when I did this in the browser settings (I'll get back to this) it CLOSED the browser WHY oh WHY can the NetFront browser remain open as an application to jump back too. This thing has 3G allowing me to be ON a call and surf simultaneously so why doesn't the phone support this!

ALso I noticed that a new SETTING in Browser ADVANCED ...
called "Connect Using" ....

And something barely rumored and mostly a glitch in the sim ... but possibly this U360 is capable of with a modular chip (missing in the K850i).

WLAN ??! (Sweet)

EDIT: Cool Radio works hehe. Nice Techno on 107 ... but just one quick track. Music DJ sort of works in the sim too.

EDIT 2: LIGHT or TORCH is BACK !!!! YES!

EDIT 3: since new annoucements are today ... why is there a Sales Meeting dated on the 10-13-2007 for "Building Beta 1" ?? Hmmm. Somebody in Marketing had worked on this?

Yes I agree, but the phone can't multi-task unless two operations run off different chips for example music and camera.

You can use Opera Mini, which also supports multiple windows so you can effectively taskswitch between websites.

haha! No doubt just there for future use

But it looks like it will be easier to use Bluetooth PAN to connect the phone to your pc's internet. That would be nice. Poor man's wifi

IMHO, In the calls list, since you can use the call button to call the contact, the OPEN means you can open the contact to view it. Current UI, you have to "Edit Contact" from the "More" button just to be able to read the contact details. The new way is much more direct, I like it. That old way is one of the few things I dislike about SE UI. Now it's gone

If its true for the production model, its a shame the k850 is unable to do other things while the web browser is in the background. I dont like opera mini.

Can't make a call when you're in the main menu

Not sure if this is just the simulator, but when you go to Menu, you can't click on the Call button (left side) - does that mean that you'll HAVE to exit menu to make a call? What's the point of a dedicated Call button if it's not functioning everywhere?

If you press the "end" button you will instantly flick back to standby, then you can press the "call" key to bring up your call list (one press, you don't need to hold it like back key), or start entering a number.

If you could use the call button from within main menu, it would make no difference. If you could use Call button from main menu you would still need to press the call button before you can enter a number.

On K850 you can press the end button then start entering number. It's exactly the same number of button presses. To access call list on K850:
While in Main Menu, press *
While in standby, press call button.

Also no different than if you can use the call button or the * button.

More often then not, I don't Dial numbers, I just hit Call and look through my list of recent calls and dial from there, so for me this is an extra step I have to take... Not being able to hit Call from Anywhere just doesn't make sense.
