Does the shake controll work on your s500 with the w580 software???
it cant because it doesnt have accelorometer or w.e which is HW dependant

yep alex, there is a difference in hardware, the phone does not have a accelerometer, nor does it have a radio, but apart from that, its practically the same.
Lucky i dont use the radio as i listen to my 1gig of music more, but i would like to muck around with the fitness programs one day. |

yes, you can change the keypad yourself, the process is quite easy, but it will cost you around $10, the upside is, you don't have to depart with your beloved s500i for repair. |

Looks nice. How easy is it to change the keypad? Is there any instruction guide or whatever? Thanks |

if you want to change the keypad, its really not that hard,
*referring to the first picture i posted, the one in the standby screen*
theres a black bit on the bottom, using your nails, you can put your nails in and pull it out
its connected by 2-3 hooks
when you do it for the first time, it feels very very scary, but it wont break
after you have pulled this part out, you can remove the old keypad (which is just a thin layer of metal, pull it off
and replace it with another one.
All together, this mod can be done in less than a minute.
this is very useful if you have a broken keypad on your s500i/w580i, but will save you the time and effort of going to SE costumer support. |

to the original poster, what site did you use to flash the s500 so that it could have flash themes on?
can you post a step by step process on how you did it please?
my wife has always wanted that flash theme for her s500 but i could never find it. |

to enable flash themes on your phone, theres a couple of things you have to do*
1.
though i am not sure you 'have' to flash your phone to w580i but i think the internal settings are different for Walkman phones and non-Walkman e.g k series and s series.
so, first of all you have to flash your phone, there is an easy way to do this and there is a hard way, i took the easier way and paid $10 using wontanserver to flash my phone to a w580i, but i am pretty sure it is possible using setools (though im not sure about the exact details, sorry)
2. after flashing, you have to enable flash themes, there is a great guide by ranphi, which gives u back ur s500i themes (with flash menus) + w580i themes (with flash menus)

However! there is a way to do this part for free, which i did,
using this :

hope this helps =] |

DonJuan, is it pretty straight forward??? From what i can tell all you're doing is updating the S500i software to the walkman software...
I really want to do this cause it looks awesome!!! Where did you get your flash themes from after that?
Thanks |

it was really easy and it just cost 10 dollars, my wife loves the walkman functions now a lot more too.
Thr flash themes come on the update you do form wontan, so you just update it and then they are on there. If you have any questions about the process ill be happy to help |
