London Andy, yes but you won't get all those calls and minutes.

40 quid for 4800 minutes and 12000 texts is pretty good if you ask me.

That is true, but if you already have a contract, with another 6 month to go, you are not that interested in the contract.
I just looking at how to get my hands on the phone cheapest, since I will pay for it.

Ah! Well I don't have a contract at the mo so it's looking like that'll do me nicely.

release prices are very high, but in a couple weeks they tend to get cheaper, so don't worry

O2 will now not be shipping the K850 until the 15th of october. Could be due to postal strikes...

Just upgraded. Got the phone for free on a 12 month contract for £35 quid with 400mins, 1000txts and unlimited data. It should be dispatched on either the 12th or 15th. Cant wait.

In case you were all looking for a breakdown of prices on O2, here it is!

12 months
---------

50min, 200text
£25pm + £129.99
£429.99

200min, 400text
£30pm + £59.99
£419.99

400min, 1000text
£35pm
£420

18 months
---------

50min, 200text
£20pm + £129.99
£489.99

200min, 400text
£25pm + £59.99
£509.99

400min, 1000text
£30pm
£540

Personally I am amazed that the cheapest total cost (bar 1p) is the 12 month, 400min, 1000text £35pm for a total cost of £420!!! What sort of fool would go for less minutes and texts for the same / higher cost!?!? I am also suprised at the total cost for 18 month contracts - it's pretty expensive!

I think I will leave it until the other networks have it up so I can barter more effectively - I want to stay with O2 as they have the best coverage here & have the least branding of any provider.

i should think it is to do with the postal strikes although they could fix that problem by using a courier instead

rm reckns they will strike every week now until they get an agreement!

I couldn't resist and have just done an upgrade. I managed to stick with my old tarriff (£19pm, 50 mins, 500 texts) and got the phone for an extra £129.99 ... which gives a yearly price of £357.99. As I don't use more than 50 mins a month, and occasionally use > 200 texts, that is fine by me! All I care about is minimising the total cost.

The lady at O2 said that while there was a warning on the system of potential lack of stock there is currently stock and I have been allocated one ... 3-5 days & it will be mine

It is being shipped by DHL - I don't think the Post Office strike should affect other couriers too much.

mwarner, the 18 month prices are cheaper in the long run, don't forget you're paying that amount over a longer period of time. So with the the 50 minutes 12 month you pay an average of just over £35/month whereas with the equivalent 18 month it works out to around £27.

YES!! Just upgraded to the K850i as well. 35£ 600min, 1000txt plus unlimited calls to o2 & unlimited data.

Rang up twice earlier today and spoke to 2 donkies insisting I couldnt upgrade until they physically had the phones. That really annoyes me about O2, am sure it is the same on the other operators helpdesks, but you generally have to ring a couple of times until you get someone who actually knows what they are doing and what they can/cannot offer you.

Anyway rant over, K850i should be with me in about a week.
