I would give up on the P800... too little/too late...
3G services are going live in the UK in january with three =>

Their handsets from NEC look amazing and you get premier league football clips - goals highlights as they happen. I think the P800 is old before its even released. |

Too bad 3G will be fully usable only in 2004/2005. Ever heard of handover ? Would you lose any call switching from a (3G) network to another (GSM) ? P800 already obsolete ? Nah... Three starts in Italy too, but a lot of water will flow under the bridges before 3G will be fully operational.

Hmm,
the "3" handsets look nice, but do you really want to be a guinea pig for 3G?
Many analysts are calling it "too little, too soon". Initially speeds won't be much different to GPRS, although you will probably have to pay a large amount for the service.
Hutchinson is also thought by analysts to be heading for failure - the confusion over their so-called launch does not inspire confidence.

well for their pricing... ie about £60 quid a month for what is essentially unlimited calls and video... I think it states 40 hour of each... thats not too heavy a price to pay now is it
Also why bother with the wow factor of P800 when you can have the goals from spurs whooping A&&&&l on your handset the moment that they happen.
and you think there wont be issues with P800?? sounds like they have been having issues all year. |

Can I also state that failure is not a word hutchison knows of... apart from PCCw..... big mistake
Though if its a sinking ship it will sink in 6 months .... cos I cant see em throwing money down the pan. But then if it sinks then there isnt much hope of anyone else getting it right is there. I mean they had the money to throw at it and it failed?? How will debt ridden operations like Orange build the infrastructure if even with money three couldnt do it. |

As I said, if you want to be a guinea pig, its up to you. Please write a review of your 3G phone for Esato when you get it.

Will do
I had an SPV for 2 weeks... too slow and did weird things... Ultimately what you want in handset is to make calls...
Everything else is a bonus. Thats where SPV failed in my opinion cos the call making part was where the handset was let down.
Lets not forget this when you see the P800 - its a phone with functions .... not a PDA with phone functions. |

Well, we will see. As I said the analysts do not rate their chances:

Apparently the service will costs between £60 - £100:

Well firstly you would have to pay ME £100 a month to have anything to do with f**king football. Also 3g will take AT LEAST a year to become problem free & taken on by the majority (if ever,it`s not a dead cert) also i don`t even pay my network for my contract or calls as i have a nice little scam going so they can shove 3G up there arse. £100pr mnth HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA burp |

however much id love to have some of that scam uve got there, the thought of being able to watch football on your phone is absolutely outstanding. Just because you are into crappy chess and warhammer doesnt mean you have to slag off footy now does it.
