I remember the last time Sammy inspired other people to have a go but can't remember whether they reached their target or not.

I think a couple of people started, but for whatever reason couldn't finish.
I'm thinking I might use the V3x I have as a starter phone, I got it for a bargain £10, fully working, even debranded it, though I want to get it unlocked before selling it, which will probably cost me another tenner, also slightly delaying the start of my experiment.

This is still going to be going ahead hopefully, sorry not updated for a while!
Been looking into getting that V3x unlocked, though it's looking quite hard so might leave it locked - but I could do with re-installing the 3 3G settings for internet access and MMS etc., though not sure where I'd get them from?
Problem is I can't get them sent to the phone as the only 3 sim I have is an old inactive one - could someone help there with what the settings are?
Might start a separate thread on this too I think.

At last, the project is underway! The V3x has just been listed on Ebay, click the link in my sig to check it out (or place a bid!), fingers crossed everyone, though it only needs to go above a tenner for me to be in profit.
My only slight worry is that it's been debranded but not unlocked, I hope that doesn't put too many bidders off, I'm rather hoping it would attract some!

How is the experiment going? I see the V3X is no longer listed on ebay.

Cheers for the link Kerry, I've added it to my watch list!
Indeed, the V3x has sold, and it made £46.95! Buyer has paid and I've posted, costing £2.54. Taking that and the £10 I paid for the phone, I've made £34.91! I'll tot up Ebay/Paypal fees at the end and add it to my total expenditure.
So, I'm now looking for a phone for around the £40 mark to fix/sell on

Yup, I'm pleased with the result
I'm probably now going to trawl Ebay looking for any candidates for my next phone/phones, and stick a wanted up here on Esato to see if anyone has something I could use in the next stage.
