does the w580i also take horizontal shots or only vertical?

i'm thinking about getting myself a w580, but the fact it takes vertical shots is really disappointing. (i found it at SE's website btw)

it doesnt have a shutter button on the lower right side of the phone which helps taking pictures horizontally, and the camera GUI is like the one in K700 (cmiiw)

The keypad problem is indeed one reason I'm hesitant about getting the W580. It seems like a pretty good phone otherwise. I've seen the picture quality of photos taken with the S500 and I think they look really good for a non-AF cameraphone. Does anyone know if the picture quality and camera on the W580 is the same as the on the S500? Thanks!

On Rogers site they say that the W580 has AUTOFOCUS, and essentially, should be a better camera than the S500 then. but i think they're wrong, there is no a/f and it should be the exact same camera as the one on the s500 since the 2 phones are practically twins.

link to rogers site : http://www.shoprogers.com/sto[....]RODUCTID=W580IWHITER&summary=1

Integrated 2.0 mega pixel camera autofocus, photo light effects, 4x zoom and integrated flash

apparently, there seems to be flash too, weird?

Hmm... That's not true, as far as I know, so I think we've gotta take what they say on that site with a pinch of salt.

I wouldn't get either if I were you. The build quality issue really needs to be sorted out before you consider buying it. It shouldn't be a case of how to avoid cracking its keys - they just shouldn't be cracking!

But if I were to choose, definitely the W580. Better finish (less plasticky), more features (:W:, quality accessories, pedometer etc.), and better value.

The S500 only has changeable themes, but that's nothing really.

@se_4life
Well if you don't really mind going to another brand, there is the Samsung U600 or U700. Perhaps you'd want the older D900 or E900?
