@govigov: My operator, Glo, does not have CSD either, but they are the only GPRS-enabled platform here, so all others actually run CSD - and that, at exhorbitant costs, so 'no-one' uses it.

@whizkidd: Its not stupid; none of us knows everything. CSD means Circuit Switched Data. Its dial-up via GSM, and you are billed for time you stay connected as against GPRS' billing for data transferred.

I don't have to worry about that. No matter how much i use my gprs, i always pay a fixed rental of 150 indian rupees per month. Thats about 3 us dollars.

@chill_lee: GPRS is billed according to size of files, pages, data loaded/transferred. This is measured in kb (1024 bytes). Can also be billed flat rate as in Whizkidd's case.

I feel that the flat rate type is more value for money for the likes of me who use gprs very heavily.

@whizkidd: The flat rate would be a very cost-effective option. But seeing there's only one GPRS network in Nigeria, that may remain a dream for a while. 1mb costs about US$5 here. Call tariff: Talking 1hour costs about US$20!

The first step would be to call up your service provider and tell them to activate your gprs. After the activate it, they will send you the settings via sms. You save those settings and select it as your wap profile and you're ready! Have you activated your gprs?
