Getting off topic... So i won't say much more. Go through that thread and look at the bugs people are reporting they're not really bugs imo..
the one major bug that is inconsistent amongst users is the wifi reseting the phone... other then that there's really nothing else... except for people not liking the way something is setup/designed

@Dragon Eye
Some of them may not be but others are exactly the same as on the P990 what are you talking about. But don't let a little thing like facts get in the way just keep wearing those rose tinted glasses and of course SE will do no wrong as always.

it is empressive that n95 has been sold 1.5 million already Cause i thought that a big part of the users did not want to pay so much. I would also like SE to make a ultimate phone, hope its gonna be the P3i |

Impressive results indeed! Not that I'm surprised, I expected nokia to keep the momentum going and they did just that. Well done to them. |

Nah, don't think so! They're aimed at two different markets.
The P1i is quite plainly a business device. I'll be surprised if the P1i becomes a big seller, touch screens with handwriting recognition and Smartphone interfaces are still niche. It would be hard to sell the P1i to someone who is used to a mid range effort.

The biggest hurdle the P1i will have to overcome is the (very)buggy reputation the P990i left ! Also the iPhone may/will take customers away and lets face it - if someone wants a pda-cell combination wm5/6 devices come to mind. They have sorted out the bugs fairly well by now and the software is available. On the other hand if a cell-pda is desired (note the word cell is first) then the Nokia N and E series are the devices of choice. That leaves the UIQ nowhere ! It had a small market/chance 'in between' but now even that is treatened with iPhone's introduction. And finaly - have you chaps checked what Nokia shares did since all this 'buzz' got going around the N95?
Well done Nokia - How about 40% market share before the years end? - Just a thought -

I was impressed when I 1st heard of the N95 and after many months I am at awe on how ahead of the curve it STILL is. Congratulation Nokia, you deserve the 38% marketshare!
P1i is a year old hardware from the P990 (including similar still unsorted bugs) repackaged in a new shiny shell with an extra 1 megapixel for the cam and 64MB ram. Hardly competition for Nokia and it's NEW upcoming devices.
I long for the day when SE can manufacture a device that rivals those of Nokia. Until then SE will be 2nd, even 3rd, behind Nokia IMHO.
Cheers! |
