how do you open up a memory stick? i was trying to open an ol' 64mb but i cant seem to make it. do i have to brake it?

Yeah you will have to break it open.
It just has various components, as to advances, the size of the memory chips will go down. Hence why we have the M2 cards which, i think could go up to 32GB i think.
Sandwiching of the memory modules is how these cards can keep increasing in size.
