What type of applications are you interested in? For general freeware though, www.3lib.com is a good place to start. You'll find free utilities and games, tips, and a host of other info.

i'm really impressed it's ergonomics and speed(imho the fastest S60 ever), but after testing E90 here i'm more impressed with the latter.

@razec: The E90 certainly packs a lot more wallop than the E61. Now, if Nokia can just provide us with all the advanced functionality of the E90 in an E61 form factor......
