@Stompa - Maybe you're right about the size of the maps. I don't know much as I had never used them... Anyway, did you manage to solve your speed problem?

Not really, I'm not sure there's much that can be done. Strangely the delay seems worse when you've had the phone switched off. When you then first open that folder it's very slow, subsequent openings are (mostly, but not always) much faster.

Well, when the phone is off it unloads the files from meory so it takes some time to read when turned on again. So when you turn on your phone, give it 2-3 minutes to read all your files from the memory stick. Actually with 1gb card I give my W800 about 5-8 minutes, and then try to open the applications/games folders which goes fast.

Thanks, I'll give that a try. Since it's presumably only reading the filenames rather than the files themselves I'd have expected it to be virtually instant though.
