se doesn't need to make phones with usb charging for china, imo a simple adaptor 'fastport-mini usb' can meet the requirement...
Are you sure all other manufacturer has the same voltage/mA requirement. Otherwise it won't work. But still SE still has to ship miniUSB charger as well (that then plug to miniUSB-fastport) then otherwise SE charger can't be used for other manufacturer which is also the requirement. And other manufacturers also has to follow the same route. To think again it can work if it proves cheaper than putting the actual miniUSB charger on the phone itself.
It is noble cause but I don't think it will solve electronic trash problem. Maybe a second hand market may serve better purpose to reduce the unwanted charger problem. Don't think we have the same problem in Indonesia as when you want to trade in your old phone, the shop always ask for your old charger to be included.
Also fake charger must also contribute to many chargers that end up in a trash can. We know a lot of SE fake (car/AC) charger in the market and product with such a low standard has tendency to broke early.
I think maybe if ppl can be stopped to buy new mobile unless it is broken can help with environmental problem. They can put bigger tax to new mobile to stop ppl changing mobile just for fashion Just kidding.
Edit: you are right it will meet requirement as SE has standard USB voltage and mA. As long as SE include charger that have miniUSB plug and provide the miniUSB-fastport adapter then they already meet the requirement.
