No doubt it will come with one of those fancy stands. I cant see it having a jogwheel either.

no jog wheel but that would make it bigger. the fast port is nearer the top of the phone too.

Wow this is nice. If this comes down in price in 2008 (thats when i need a new low end upgrade) ill get this.
OR
i hope they bring out another slider in more low end
Overall. The best looking phone from SE to date in my opinion.

Sorry, I meant scroll-wheel
Nice phone though not for me, although it seems there is plenty of room for more sliders, especially high-end ones judging by the success of Samsungs efforts.
I thought this was going to be an e-series anyway?

E series is just a codename series AFAIK.
But I will repeat myself again, this is the best SE design ever And the gold one looks nice as well.

Why do you think its the best design ever? I would have rated it quite high but not the best. I don't mind the gold colour either.

Well, the glossy black finish with the mixture of metal inserts, fresh colours, and it's proportioned very well. It just has that extra in comparison to the W580, and the other SE phones.
It's just an elegant phone.
Or maybe it just 'clicks' with me.

500$? are you jocking? The K800 in the very first days was at 470$,so a phone that doesn't give any new stuff one year later and even downgrading the camera from 3.2 AF to a 2.0 FF would not be more than 400$ maximum!
I know n95 has nothing to do with s500 but if the price of the n95 decrease to 550$ ending june bye bye SE...

I see what you mean. The piano-black finish is quite nice. Personally, the T650i is more interesting to me but whatever floats your boat I suppose.
Will this also have the speaker underneath the d-pad too just like the W580i?

Yeah, just like the W580 with the speaker under the dpad.
But the T650 looks very good as well. It takes a little more time to appreciate the design; but it's inevitable with each new candybar (K800>W880>T650)! But it definitely screams 'quality' in real life with that high quality finish.

SE4NICK estimated in Aussie $$$ if i'm not mistaken. So that's around $US400.
I'm guessing around that price range as well. Just a little more than the W610.

@shaliron/goldenface
i thought the speaker was at the bottom of the front slide, all the little holes under the dpad area, not directly under like w580, the tiny holes below..... could jsut be the design though....
@qvga
when se4nick said $500, thats aussie dollars, not US....
