If you compare a Malaysian and Swedish T68, you will notice that the latter is better built and finished.
Ericsson have a multiplant production. The build quality of the far east product is quit bad. I'm not so sure as why this is as flextronics makes them both using the same design and specs but perhaps the materials are produced in different locations?
I have a Swedish T68 and it's fantastic. The build quality is excellent and it was bought in Nov with R1B now R2A!
I think Malaysian T68 should be cheaper as its cost of production is far less (made with cheaper labour). But some of the savings when Malasian made are lost by suppliers from bigger import tariffs to the EU and much heavier transprtation costs. Thats why T68 prices are same wherever made.
Although i had a T39 made in Malaysia and it was perfect in all ways. But T39 is less sophisticated and easier to make than T68. Perhaps materials for the T39 were sourced from one plant producing parts of homogeneous quality, unlike T68!

I have posted a reply to this post and it is gone?? Was it removed?
Anyway, what I was posting is that because the Phone is made in Malaysia doesn't mean it has worse quality. My Mercedes S500 gave problem all the time, so is previous car, a Volvo S80. Does it means that Germany and Swedish car has lower quality control?
Be fair guys.
NOTE: If this posting is GONE, I want to know why from the admin. I am checking this again periodically with my script. |

Type > * < < * < *, where "<" is a joystick direction and "*" is the key below the "7" key. You'll enter into a "Service Info" menu. Go to the 3rd option and you'll see your IMEI.
It takes the form of xxxxxx-XX-xxxxxx-x-xx. Take a look of this XX. If 61, your phone was made in Sweden, if 71 in Malasia.
Hope this helps. Regards |

With our T68 phones, can we change their face plates? Are there any available now? I am using a yellow gold T68 and got too boring on its color that's why I want to change its face plate if there's any. Thanks.

nelsongs, do not know if we will be able to change by ourselves covers on T68, could be bad for our Guarantys, so, they sell allready some covers, but it will be better to send them to an Ericsson Service Centers to do the job, regards. |
