Can't find any details on the 'HCE-16 Advanced Music Mute' - anyone know where I can find info on this?

I've also just placed my order this morning on Expansys. The price is right. However they don't have the advanced music mute (HCE-16) but I have managed to find another one on the web:

http://www.l8shop.co.uk/mall/coralphones/products/product-730627.stm

There are also manuals on the website for both installation and operation.

http://www.sonyericsson.com/downloads/HCB_30_UG_R1.pdf

I'll let you know how I got on - last night while driving I regretted having only the FM Handsfree and was pleased to find Expansys' email this morning that it's now available.

Anyone knows yet if it works with a hands-free call placement thru a "magic word"?

German shouldn't be a problem. The box itself doesn't do any talking or interpretation of listening - that's all passed to your phone.

If your phone supports German (ie, you've recorded all your voice tags in German) I see no reason why the HCB-30 wouldn't.

Okay - installation process was a breeze (for the installer anyway..!)

The button panel has a beautiful blue glow to it. The quality of the components seems to be average or better, and all the bits work properly.

Voice commands that I'd previously recorded straight onto the phone are fine through the voice dialling of the HCB-30 (although in the same way as on the phone, if names have a certain "pattern" to them, like "Lou Lou" instead of "Louise" then it helps) and I see no reason why any other language should not be supported.

All in all a very satisfactory piece of kit which has already saved me while on the road in my car.

Blue illumination? That's nice! Can you snap a picture or two, if it's not too much to ask for?

I will set my digital camera to work on that this weekend for you. I'll try and get it uploaded before Monday. Might even be able to get some video clips of it working if you're lucky.

Of course, if I'd bought the MCA-20 I could get the photos up even quicker, but I've decided to eschew this camera for Sony's new DSC-U20. I can then send pics to my phone via the Memory Stick and a PDA.

----

Trust me - when it's dark on the road and the dash is all illuminated, the warm blue glow is just beautiful.

So beautiful, in fact, that it warranted the professional installation. Really impressed. Really really. It takes a lot to really impress me, too...

Thanks, will be avaiting for your pics anxiously!!

A question for you meanwhile! Did you have it installed with the "Advanced music mute" harness (HCE-16) or went on with that bundled tweeter?

I am planning to do the install myself (not a big deal), but just out of curiousity, how much did you pay for yours to be installed?

The blue illumination should look really nice in my car (2001 Jetta with Blaupunkt New Orleans Minidisc headunit), already all swathed in red and blue.

Was going to do the pics yesterday, but couldn't get onto Esato.

I didn't use the advanced music mute - decided to see how the kit was just on its own. The speaker is fine for the purpose, given that it's only going to do speech and only at GSM data rates anyway.

I will make my very best efforts to do the necessary things tonight to get pictures and maybe even some movie files up.

Anyone install the HCB-30 with a car that has a Bose audio system, as the CK3000 would not install due to the speakers
