ha! having noticed in the P990 firmware thread that SE have upped the organiser version available on SEUS by 1 since this morning I sspected they might have done the same for M600
anyway, I just tried again on my M600 and I have now completed the updated sucessfully 
patience is definitly a virtue!
so anyone holding off can probably go ahead now

go to sonyericsson.com and download the Sony Ericsson Update Services. Make sure your M600 is not set to allow charging through USB. turn off phone, and then follow instruction in Update Services. good luck. |

I didnt fully charge my battery before I update. I was about half full. I never understood why I would need an absolute full charge. Guess its just for precaution, just in case updating took longer than anticipated. |

@ Gok - yep, it's a precaution - you really don't want the battery running out in the middle of flashing, and of course you can't charge it once the flash is underway and the USB cable is in place...

Hi. Just want to know about this 20.8 MB free memory? Is this from the Phone Memory SPace Available? Im currently having 49MB space available in my Phone Memory. No installed games or programs excpet for the phone's pre-installed games and programs. Im having R9C001 firmware. |

I really want to update the phone to the new firmware, but I can't make the backup manager in the pc suite work...
When i plug my phone in the usb cable, windows detects it, the phone goes into usb-mode, but the pc suite still says: no phone connected, and even if I run the "how to connect a phone"-guide, the software still does not detect the phone..
What to do ????

My update with WorldGeneric1 is hanging on 47% over and over again. I have tried it several times and still no progression past 47%. Even after waiting for 20-30 mins.
Time to uninstall, reinstall the update software. Hopefully that will work. Will get back with results. |

yeah, just keep a cool head. Mine was stuck at 51% every time I tried (probably half dozen times) from 7am until lunch time, then suddenly it worked
.. and I didn't change a thing!

damn i updated my m600 last friday i got r5a12.
so does someone have the release notes indicating the bugs fixed?

release notes? you're having a laugh!
I spoke to SE support today when I was having my 51% problem and first they did not know there was a new firmware and second, when they looked it up they didn't have access to any release notes either!

i would say that it works waaay faster and much more reliable. at last my m600 is working as it should. i have waited for this update for a year now.

Update:
After reinstalling the update software and several new attempts to get the firmware updated: still stuck at 47%
I'll leave the black brick alone for a while and try again in a few hours. |
