As @advancer said you have to press side volume keys to see the clock & msg / missed calls indicator...somewhat irritating but have got used to it somewhat

Why don't you just have a black background and the time can be in white? Please reply, I have a K550i and am very dissapointed because there is no standby time.

Hi Laetitya,

there is a stand-by clock, when you lock the key-pad and press the volume button on the right hand side top corner you get the stand-by clock, however it is small

Yeah, i know about that but it just makes the phone seem so tacky. No doubt it's an awsome phone but if you look at the price it's at and compare it with other phone's out in the market for it's price...

I'm starting to think Nokia =(. RRRRRRRRR... I'm a huge SE fan though.

hi,

you're mistaken, horribly mistaken...

In fact there is only 1 feedback I saw about the k550, its a phone which will give you value-for-money, with features normally found only in top end phones.

Its a highly unpopular misunderstood genius.

As far as I can tell, some K550i's have a standby clock, and others don't. I actually happen to have a K550i that DOES indeed have a standby clock - as in, it shows the time and missed events on the screen at all times without having to push a button.

HOWEVER, the text is so difficult to see, it might as well not even exist. When the screen is off, the background is dark dark grey, and the text is black. In other words, its next to impossible to see unless you are outside in a very well lit environment, and even THEN you have to look pretty closely. Its nothing like how the K800/K750 does it.
