SanDisk introduces 4GB Memory stick Micro card with Sony Ericsson |

Hi all,
It does appear at long last that memory cards are increasing in size and that the price is also reasonable for it's size. Personally i think cards are a better solution to Hard drive phones or even inbuilt flash memory. I recently bought another 2gb Sandisk Mini SD as this is the max size supported in my device sealed with adapter for only £13.97 including recorded delivery with insurance. I think £7 per GB is good value and it seems prices are really starting to drop at last.

I would expect all phones that take M2 will accept this 4gb without issue

what are you guys doing with 1gb/ 2 gb card if you buy a 4 gb card? you change them often or do you sell it?
My daughter grabbed my Sony 1GB M2 and put into her W300 almost instantly after I put the Sandisk 2GB M2 in my phone. I suppose that there will always be a market for reasonably large memory cards, but I think that the original 32M or 64M M2 that was in the W300 now lies in a drawer somewhere. |

should give up on this "Memory Stick" silliness and adopt SD/microSD like everyone else.

I agree, but this is probably this "Sony" thing. All Sony cameras and other devices that use removable memory use some version of the memory stick. |

But even some of these Sony camera's are starting to take SD cards as well as memory sticks and also some Sony Laptops do this now also.

I am considering a new SE phone (K550 or K790), and after a painful back-and-forth questioning of their support dept the answer I got was they dunno. Until they have put a 4gb card in the actual phone, they won't make a guess.
A thinking person might ask, as I did, can they not just ask a technical person there, perhaps in another department, whether there is or is not a system limit or limitation (slows the os down etc) that would prevent the full 4gb from being accessible... but this is Sony, and apparently that is not possible.
This page lists your phone as compatible:

But this page suggests that you (and I ) may be out of luck.

(edit) - these guys are listing the card for the K800 and K790. There's hope yet.
