yeh, when I use my phone connected to my mac it trys to call out, not go on gprs etc, seems more like wap to me...

im using a nokia 6822 (the one with the cool qwerty keyboard)

Um....surely this shouldn't work? Your creating a tunnel via HTTPS to the O2 gateway IP address (193.113.200.195), this means that all data is securely transmitted through the secure HTTPS protocol and thus shouldn't make a difference to whether you get charged or not?

When you connect to O2, they monitor you number to see how much MB or how long you have been on the internet so whether it is secure or not shouldn't make a difference.

I can't seem to understand how this method is mean't to work...

...please explain.

EDIT: This is a non-working method, it used to work but O2 resolved the compromise in the system in August 2005.
