I did tell you what I think. I said they are doing it to get decent application support.
They need this so that they can compete with s60 on availability of software. You can't sell a platform if their is bugger all software for it. They also want to increase the marketshare of UIQ, which in the long-term can only help the platform for all involved.
You yourself didn't give a lot of reasoning beyond some kind of blind faith that not keeping it to themselves is bad business. That is not a fact it is only opinion.
I have a different opinion, with quite sound reasoning behind it. So I welcome you to tell us why you think it's bad business to open UIQ up to third parties?
