I guess the advantage of this small dongle is that you wouldn't have to remove it from the laptop. That's what the makers intended.
It's for convenience if your laptop doesn't have bluetooth.

It would suit me just fine.
My laptop has 3 USB ports and dont use them all at once.
I'd rather keep the PCMCIA slot available for a VMC UMTS card.

I had a Dick Smith Electronics dongle. Worked great, but it was too long and fragile.

I had 3 to begin with but I placed my broadband modem inside my computer and drilled a hole in the side of the case for power (I have an ATX case, quite large). That's taking up one port so I have 2 remaining.
