Weird Alarm issue with P990 - Help me before I become single. |

@axilom Cheers for the idea...
I have tried everything though. I have no alarms set. All three check boxes are un-checked. But it still goes off about 7 times each morning. I can only think it is the ghost alarm issue that some people have reported.
There are only three alarms that can be set, yet I get 7 each morning...
Done a factory restore thing... so should be sorted now... fingers crossed...

If it's branded, you might want to try unbranding it via wotanserver/davinciteam. I havent reflashed/debranded a smartphone before though, much less a P990, so I'm not sure if the process is the same. I heard the latest P990 firmware fixes a lot of bugs.

Ahha! The dreadful "those we do not mention" comes again.
Orange branding is probably the number one source of all P990i problems. I do not have one, but certainly do not intend to buy any branded mobile. It's just too much of a hassle.

This kind of thing is so annoying,
I bought an Orange branded phone 3 months ago on R7 & other than the short battery life that ALL P990's have, it is a trouble free phone, completely trouble free, & as you have said you dont even have one, i can see no valid point in your post.
Your just jumping on the bandwagon, actually, the "number one source of all P990 problems" is people moaning about how awfull Orange P990 is when they have no personal experience of owning an Orange P990.

@stiltzkin,if the format didn't solve the poblem, here's the solution:set the alarm clock sound to "silent" and then use the calendar as alarm. You do this in Control Panel/Device(or Phone,whatever)/Sounds and alerts/Alarms.Cheers |

@ pachy,
I stand corrected! Asked a couple of friends with Orange phones, a P990i and an M600i. Both had no major problems. It seems Orange are not to blame here, not for everything, anyway
This whole issue with branding DOES seem to be a cause of a few headaches from time to time.
Back to the main topic, maybe a master reset without restoring phone settings will fix things? |

Symbiatico,
Well, maybe i was bit harsh but if i had listened to all th negative Orange p990 posts i wouldnt have bought mine & i would have missed out on a great phone, i feel bad for those with bad versions, but if i had bought a phone (of any make) that had usabillity issues i would simply return it as faulty.

Exactly, Pachy!
If I had been concerned with every single complaint I see here, I also would have missed a great mobile experience. A few positive impressions from knowledgeable posters gave me enough confidence to shell out the money and enjoy. Never looked back since!
I just feel sorry for the unfortunate ones and keep wondering if it's a case of faulty devices, faulty users, or an unlikely combination of both |

Yes uiq3 i very different from other P9's & alot of P990's were returned within days of people recieving them, i do think a small percentage of perfectly good P990's got sent back pureley because they were abit hard to find all the features for people who never owned a previous P series, having said that even having had all the previous P series phones, uiq3 took me about a week to really get used to.
