Goto the "secret" service menu and check the locks, so you know what are you dealing with.

ok things were going great... i got a credit... downloaded the software connected the phone (already had the flash driver installed) selected w900... and now it wants to know what CDA i want? None of the ones in the list are for the uk? which one do i use????

Hmmm... it seems i have europe 2 on my phone at the mo but that list says thats for germany???
Is that right?

Flash it with another CDA from the list that suits you more. |

To be honest, it doesn't really matter one bit which CDA you go for. European 2 is what I had on my W900i. You can enter anything, but SEUS will update if your CDA/IMEI/FS file region are in correct combination. Seeing as they're not going to release anything for the W900 I wouldn't worry.
Also you won't find CDA for W900 Generic UK anywhere

The CDA is not the whole language support. Actually, you will be able to use English language with any of there firmwares:
