Has anyone had any joy finding the "Sony MP4 Shared Library" drivers/codecs for download? Googling seems to reveal it's on the recovery CDs for Vaio laptops - particularly Japanese ones. I think buying a Vaio laptop purely for that is going a bit too far. Any other solutions, do the Sony MP4 codecs come with any of their audio/video software (SoundForge, Vegas, etc)? Thanks. |

Hi guys and friends out there,
I hope that the dicusssion is still on going. I have found another solution other than using sony media codecs. The solution is to use the software called, 'sony image converter 2 plus' ( a freeware), oddly, this software is mainly used for all sony's portable video product (mainly psp). So you guys will have to convert the avi format file to mp4 format. After that you should be able to play/forward/rewind movies etc. (anything longer than 60 mins) and not causing the Handphone/mobile to hang. haha. So i hope you guys to have fun in the movies. In addition, this conversion might take longer than the other software available in the market.( Around 60 to 80 mins, depending on the item to convert).

For WMV on p990i (organizer version 5B17+ ) you can use the 150Kbps 320x240 setting of windows movie maker. |

Check this tread for creating long MP4 movies that will play correctly:
