I've never had problem with ericsson, sony ericsson either way with battery or the charger. Till now my t68i still working properly both the battery and charger. Right now I used K800i for GSM phone
In fact I use Nokia 6585 for my CDMA phone, cuz' SE in Indonesia don't sell CDMA phones, and it sucks i have used it for 2 years and the battery is already broken. Compare to my T68i which i still use it till' now it's nothing.
FYI I bought SE T68i in June 2002, Nokia 6585 in Desember 2004. The conclusion is SE the best!!!!! |

I think Nokia uses plastic material too for its charger. So, why blame SE for that material if Nokia does too?
I have no problem with the charger for my 3 years old T610 from SE.
As for camera lense of K800 as TS said, is that true that the camera lenses made of plastic?

cannot use Carl Ziess optics in their cameraphones - nor can anyone else. NOKIA have an exclusive deal with CZ for cameraphones just as SONY do with Digicams.

Well, what's this fuss bout Carl Zeiss! SE K800i has great picture quality, especially when compared to Nokia's N73. Sony, of course have the technical know-how of producing quality optics. So what's the need for branding its phones with Carl Zeiss lens. Next, what SE should do to out shine Nokia is to incorporate optical zoom & N93 kind video capability.
SE's chargers especially the ones from the K700 era, certainly was troublesome. But the new FastPort interface solves it to an extent. But I'd like to see SE move into the standard miniUSB interface and offer USB port charging & file transfer. Just like the WindowsMobile brands...
I've also had problems with SE's batteries, especially in some of the low end models of the past (read, J200i). But the new models have extended capacity & reliability. Especially the one's in the Walkman series.

kabayan i have a k750 for a year now but i dont have a problem with the charger..i think durability of the product depends on user even my charger for my t610 is still ok and its already 4 years now...and the issue about carl zeiss is it will make the fone more expensive but as you can see the the N series of nokia's are equipped with this lens but as you can see they still got owned by k800 in terms of pictures...TBH last nokia fone that impressed me is the 6600 which is 3 years ago but i still have it tho im using it for my roaming sim card..and about the charger as we all plastic is the best material to be used have you any charger that is not made of plastic??? and i mean any charger as in any kind of elcetronic device all are made of plastic so you wond get electrecuted...thats basically the reason why they use plastic for safety reasons..

don doubt the functionality & reliability of miniUSB ports as almost all WM mobiles have been using them for a long time. I have a Moto Mpx200 with the same interface & its superb in terms of functionality it offers.

Carl Zeiss - A History of the Most Respected Name in Optics
As I understand it, the CZ point of difference is that they quality test every lens they make, not just a random sample.
SONY where very smart securing CZ lenses for use in thier digital cameras.
Unfortunately, Nokia siezed the opportunity to do the same with mobile phones leaving looking rather silly...

Do not bring the whole company down just because you had a bad experience with a battery charger.
I used to be a Nokia fan but ever since I used an SE W800i, I swore I'll never use Nokia phones again.
Sony Ericsson produces great, stylish and functional phones. What's more, it's not as common as Nokia.
SE ROCKS!

YOU CAN NOT generalise SE as a bad company just because of YOUR OWN expirience, over all every one here agrees that SE chargers work fine. I still have my T68i and the charger still works fine, my friend has a T290 and the charger still works fine.
As for the K800 why bother with a CZ lense when the Camera is already better than NOKIA.
Also I would NEVER by a phone with a USB port that functions as a Charging port, Headphone port or File Transfer port, i had 2 motorolas and connection was loose (just my opinion). Overall i like SE better than those moto phones.
NOTICE HOW I EXPRESSED MY OPINION WITHOUT GENERALISING MOTOROLA AS A BAD COMPANY |
