You should get some money for it, even water damaged on ebay. It'll still be good for parts, especially the screen.
Is it all the buttons that are playing up, or just the top ones under the screen? Could be a connector for the data ribbon that goes between both parts of the phone that has been damaged, or even worse the connectors on the phone have been corroded, sadly not much you can do about that unless very handy and careful with a soldering iron!

Sammy tbh when I re-opened it today the keypad stopped working, it mite be that the cable has come loose, it was working fine before, the camera button on the side no longer works etc. Bin offered £20 from a member, look in the FS section for bathed D600 guys if u wanna make a bid

Ripping out the battery and let the phone dry are the two most important things to do.
The water itself can cause corrosion, and the most noticeable problems are keypad not working properly, or display not functioning properly (corrosion in the display connector to the circuit borad). These problems are not very serious thoug, they can easily be fixed by a service centre by simply cleaning everything. These problems don't occur immediately, however, but after a while, after the corrosion has spread so much so that the contact fails in the keypad or in the connectors.
A more severe problem is if the power is turned on. The water may short-circuit some critical parts of the circuit board, causing permanent and expensive damage to the circuits. So turn the phone off immediately, that's the most important thing. |

You have an other option to consider. First of all, don't feel too bad about what happend. I've sent thru my K750i a whole laundry cycle in the washing machine...in my packet....on my Birthday:-(( The phone was completely dead. It's been laying on my desk since. Then my W800 fell into a cooler full of ice, water. Even though I took it right out the mic stopped working. So I took the k750's mic and put it into the w800 and works fine. Now that I have the k800i I'm extra careful.
And here is you other Option:

They repair water damage phones, even the ones that don't turn on anymore.
See if it's worth sending to them. Good luck! |
