So any new info on the screen depth.... if it is 65k ---> i want it badly
if it is 256 colors ---> no freaking way i'll get it... and if it 4096 i will thing about it...
but seriously, are these pics real size, cause if that s55 pretty much the same size as t68i, and now here this phone looks smaller than the s55, this means it will be a smartphone with a smaller form factor than a regular handset.... now that is f*****g great, if that is the case it will surely be a hit.... the design is very nice as well...

Definitely not! However, it might use Series60 platform. Yes, 7650 is a Series60 device also, but platform and device software are a bit different thing.

I wouldn't be too sure it actually runs series 60 paltform. But I might be wrong...
To my humble understanding, series 60 also implies a given screen resolution. This SL55 screen is anything but that of 7650.

I would more believe it is a copy product of S55, but with a sliding keypad à la 7650, and not a smart phone.

Here we go:

I found this on www.nokia.com

"Series 60 platform mandates a screen with a resolution of 176x208 pixels, two soft keys and a 4-way navigation among other elements"

So this SL55 is not using a series 60.
I even doubt it be a smart phone at all.

It doesn't look like a smarthphone to me, it does look like attractive phone but with simple OS, not something like PPC or SYMBIAN.

@levin_tom1

You could be right about that. It crossed my mind to. But in the early beginning from the sl55 the talk about smartphone so my guess is that we have to wait.
