I actually agree(despite my earlier my previous remark).
This topic should be about how long the P990 can go between another crash.
I can say, that I am so happy today that I had no issues for a whole 24 h, using the WiFi, GPRS, Media Player, RSS, Opera and all other functions.
I find this somehow to be ridiculous of me to be happy about using the phone in a normal way, without crashing (don't we all expect any object that it is sold is supposed to function per the spec). In our case, we are going the other way, we expect to crash. And if the phone does not crash, we take that situation as an abnormality, as an exception
So, you guys out there that keep the phone on longer between crashes, you must be sooooo lucky. And I mean lucky, cos u never know when and why our beautiful and beloved P990i will crash

this is kind of comparing apples and peaches . this is all relative.
on mine, I switched off the 3G, I switched off the GPRS (it comes up only when needed), and of course I switched of the WLAN so I get better battery time. IMO these are the 3 major battery eaters, except having the screen light on.
this way you can go a long while before you run out of battery. and since the battery are kind at the begging of their life, it's a little premature to evaluate it only after a month of usage. I know I will get longer uptime after the battery "matures"

How do you switch off the 3G ?

@ skruttet
under control pannel -> connections -> mobile networks.
Activate the menu and choose GSM/3G networks. Now choose whatever option you want (only GSM, only 3G, or both). |

@Sainty, 7 days now
Who said the P990i isn't stable?
I use mine as a main phone, 15 mins calls and a few texts a day.
Check my email through WiFi/GSM, and take some photos from time to time.

Since I want to use more then one app at the time I have to restart every other day. The uptime is now 2d 2h 40m and the free ram after closing everything down and clean ram with swiss manager is down at 7.4mb. That's not enough to use both web and message-app at the same time. So now I will restart. no longer uptime than that is possible when want to use the phone practical.
