No these new phones are not made by HTC. Imate isn't owned by HTC unlike QTeK. Yes imate has been about HTC phone so far, but the decided on not doing the excaliber(S620) and made the JAQ instead, well comissioned another company or rebranded another company's phone, and now the SPL which also doesn't match a HTC product. I read it somewhere probably M-R.
I don't want a signature anymore.

I have found out that the JAQ is made by a company called Inventec. Still looking for maker of SPL?

No more news about the HTC Omni, successor to HTC Universal/Qtek 9000/SPV M5000/i-mate JASJAR/T-Mobile MDA Pro/O2 XDA Exec?

I have tried to find pictures or anything official about it, but Google has not satisfied me yet.

I would very much like a smart phone with good keyboard and connectivity, and this sounds like the thing for me.
