Where should I start

Firstly I am afraid I don't plan to start or mainatin a second thread, I would like to keep things all in one place.

That's not only for my benefit but also for people who want to try and use the A-ZoTT.
Having multiple places to post and check feedback will only ever lead to more confusion and people being unsure about exactly what to do. While it may seem simple to experienced traders who are very familiar with the A-ZoTT it will be anything but simple to new members trying to figure out why everything is separated into different threads

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Secondly while it does sound like a good idea it would actually fall victim to the exact same problem when the new thread itself started to get lengthy and with the way things have been going round here lately that might not take as long as you think.

Being able to see the actual negative comments is something I have thought about a lot in the past and I have implemented some aids on the A-ZoTT over at se-nse where I have made the dates of each -ve reference a clickable link to the actual post.
I'm afraid that I wasn't planning to add this feature to the esato thread, I'm not sure if I can link to idividual posts here and also I don't really have the time to be going through and back tracking all of the -ves that have already been posted.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Third thing is that I'd like to think that the A-ZoTT was a little better than "useless" but it should also not be regarded as any sort of guarantee. It is a guide and nothing more.
Also the thread does deal with the reasons behind a -ve reference and that is the very reason I enforced the rule that any -ve without a clear and valid reason will not be added. Of course this comes back to the issue of being able to find that post but they are there and you can track it down by date.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Another feature I was actually thinking of adding a few weeks back is the chance for the person who has received a -ve reference to leave a comment in return which would appear or be linked to directly under the -ve reference in the A-Z list. I suppose this would be in a similar way to that on ebay.
The events of this week have shown a perfect example of where such a system would be useful but I must be honest I was again only planning this feature to be added to the se-nse A-ZoTT.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Finally I know that there could be a better system of feedback here but remember that the A-ZoTT is not supported or run by esato and is a member-run thread and so any greater degree of integration into the site is pretty much out of the question.
Of course I do value your comments and suggestions but I do have better things to do than spend all of my time here maintaining the feedback system any more than I already do

--------------------------------------------------------------------

PS- It also seems that more than one of you who have posted in this very thread have some bad experiences to mention. Please do remember that your feedback is important and could very well stop someone else from getting burned in the future

Thanks for reading, hope this helps

Mik

Hows about the negative comment with BREIF details on the transaction are added under the username in ATZOTT? Only the new ones I guess, no point backtracking the thread to find old complaints.

Sorry if this was written in your post Mik, it got a bit long to read

well if we had the warning idea, it could also be implemented that they have NO access to the sales section anymore, that way we wouldn't need to constantly check up.

I also suggest that sellers are FORCED to have a pic of the item with their name or something.

The issue with Hang_man in my case was that i had begun to trust Esato so much i didnt think that anything like that would happen. I was wrong.

Also he was originally under another name.....

There should definitely be some sort of Negative Thread, it seems there are alot more cases coming out of the wood work....

Its not as though the current A-ZoTT doesn't support negatives, they are even listed in a seperate post to the +ves to make it easy to see who has -ve feedback.
If people are so worried about dealing with someone with -ve feedback but can't bring yourself to find the posts to see the reason why they have received it then I suggest that you simply choose not to deal with them!

Rule number one is if you are not 100% sure, don't go through with the deal. People do need to take actions to protect themselves and no matter how good a feedback system is if you rely on it 100% it will let you down as it only shows what has happened in the past, it cannot predict what someone will do in the future.

@scotty is right, no need imo for 2 traders thread. the + and - marks are enough. next to it, esato isnt like gaybay, the esato trader thread is enough.

I dont think thats right, if I had to that I would simply not try to sell on here, I have respectable feedback on esato and am a powerseller on gaybay, why should I have to put a name next to my pics? nt guna run off with 200 quid when I can make that in less then a hour...

Not to be rude, but I say tough.
Just as we should be cautious of new sellers, new buyers should be able to show caution when buying.

So far, I've seen quite a number of threads where known sellers have sold things that were not as described. (most just shrug it off and don't complain).

Don't act proud of yourself, this system will help the whole forum over all.
At the end of the day the system is to help promote equality and security.

Taking a picture of the item takes TWO seconds.

I dont think Lukes opposed to the picture taking idea, as he already takes pics of stuff he sells on here most of the time i think its the fact of sticking a bit of paper with your name and date, i think sellers like Luke, Solidsingh and even myself have good enough feedback to warrent not having to stick a bit of paper with our usernames and date on

Even though you are all great traders i think everybody should have to post a picture with their name and date on it, no matter what their feedback is. Fair is fair, can't have one rule for some people and another for the rest.

Well then what would the trusted traders list be proving?

If it aint proving that we have a good reputation and can be "Trusted" so that we dont have to go to the extremes of writing our names and date on then what is it doing?

Proving that aswell as posting pictures that you also have good communication, post items on time, keep people updated etc etc.

All i am saying is if you going to have a rule then it must be the same for everybody, if you and other people do not want to post pictures with your username and date then nobody else should either.

But i think it would be best for everybody to do this, least then people would feel more at ease buying from newer sellers and it will reduce the chance of everybody being scammed.

Nobody can say they don't want that right?
