I totally agree with Fingers ! In my opinion, Siemens is making a lot better phone than Nokia !
And if the S55 is as good as the other Siemens, it should have all the features of the T68, plus a more complete address book with fields for “street” and “city” and above all, a way to remove the bloody “operator name” on the main screen…
For me, if those 2 options are into the S55, it make this phone a lot above the T68… (and I don’t care at all if it has Java and/or polyphonic…)
We’ll soon know…

One of the best things is that the digicam that comes along the s55 has a built in flash! It doesn't use the screen as a finder though (which of course is a drawback) - but again - great quality is assured regardless of the light conditions. |

The siemens S55 will actually have better resolution than t68i.And that means that pics will be more clear. |

after reading all i could find on this phone i have come to a conclusion that its a clone of t68i with some features like java and polys, other than that there is no difference, therefore i think this product is outdated and i am not interested in getting another "t68i" with 256 colors a year after i had an original t68i... anyway, in my opinion the major selling factor will be siemens' reputation as a company that builds extremely reliable and high quality handsets... if this phone was out like 3 month after se, i would preffer it to se, but now it is too late, too many good things are headed our way, and finally the sl55 smartphone from siemens is a potential hit, keeping in mind that it will come equiped with a different lcd than this one. at least 4k, but 65 would be better... so lets wait and see..

Si55? What phone is that? Anyone got a link or info on it? I like the design on the s55, but i agree its a copy of the t68. Why is it flip phones are so tick with color?

Dont really care about lots of colors i am content with the s55 and i am just a simple guy with simple needs. I love the cam especially. To me it is not a clone of the t68i. There are lots of phones with the same specs as the t68i some with more or less features.

The S55 could match up with the T68i, but it's out more than one year too late. It has Java ++ but I think it's too similar to the T68i to stand out in the crowd. It all depends on the price tag and the Siemens marketing budget. Keep in mind that the T68i has won almost all the test of advanced mobile phones in every printed-, tv- and online articles the last 6 month. Let's hope the P800 will be released soon, ... |

@Laffen
I don’t think it’s too late for the S55 !
Even if the T68 is the best phone on the market today… it’s still impossible to ad the “city” and “street” fields into the contacts… and it’s still impossible to remove the “operator name” in the main screen… both options available since long ago by Siemens…!!!
For me, as I’m not interested at all by the “brick” P800… (price and size are both too big…) the S55 will probably be the closest alternative to a PDA, and, by the way, a lot better than the T68…

okay, one thing i dont get is, how in world s55 could be anyhow close to being a pda alternative? it has even smaller viewable area on the screen (compared to t68i) because 2 lines (top and botom) are for the status bars... s55 and pda are two different things.... sl55 is closer, yet so far away..
